Limited funds is the best way to advertise. If you have too much money, you spend too much.
Use your network of friends and acquaintances to help you. Have a grand opening of your business.
Have business cards and hand them out.
Give out free coupons for your business.
Put up flyers around town.
Have a large sign outside your business so people see it.
Do a press release for the local paper saying there is a new business in town.
Do swaps- your business product or service for other things- home repairs, etc.
Have an event at your business- free food, a music performance by a musician friend or child who plays music, raffle, art show, etc.
The idea is to get people in your door, even if they aren't paying. They need to get used to coming there.
Referrals- go to other businesses in town or in neighboring areas and tell them what you are doing and hand out your business card (exchange cards). Often, people come in asking for directions or they go to the wrong place looking for something and businesses are happy if they can point people in the right direction- towards your business.
Best wishes to you and your business. |

Have you got a market near you? If so rent a stall space, advertise yourself, hand out flyers, cards etc. and meet and greet the public: quite a few businesses have done this in our market and found it is value for money as well as being an effective use of time and effort. If you make something, have samples ready to demonstrate.
Hope this helps, regards Anthony. |

Would help if you said what it is?
You could be cheeky and print flyers and park outside Computer stores and out them under cars wipers! You could also try your local group of hospitals, they usually have a 'Sale and wanted board' (in the UK) where you can advertise your service for free and thousands of staff will see it (try their website). You could try Ebay but you will have to get a bit of positive feedback before people will trust you as there is a lot of dodgy people on there! Try your local paper - small ads are usually quite cheap, your local Tesco store has a notice board and other shop windows. |

to cut costs on flyers and things like that , get a laser printer, it will cut your printing costs at the begining, when you have income being generated and you need to do more printing, then go to a printers and do it, but not at the begining. Do you have a local newspaper?? if so, they are a good way of getting business, many people read them and look for services inside them. I advertise on goodle with google ads, but that can be pricey, but im not sure it would work for your business. Good luck with it all, i hope it works out for you! |

If you have some money - the most cost effective paid for advertising I have found is advertising on the back of car park tickets - you can target the number, location, and date very easily.
What about sending leaflets to schools to had out - offer 10% of revenue with customers quoting a code to go to the PTA
Whatever promotions you do - offer a 'deal' people love them...
Good luck
