What is the best way to kill time while at work.?

I need to kill some time at work (internship). Most of the time I am at my desk with nothing to do. I ask all the time if they need anything and they say no. I'm tired of looking at all the news and I am looking for some interesting sites or ideas. I can't play games, download, or go to anything that involves volume so I know my options are limited but....help is MUCH appreciated.

Looks like I need to point out a few more things....

This is unpaid and my department is all of 3 people (I am one of them). I've been here for 2 weeks and offered to do everything I could come up with to help. Also, you can't really "research" my industry or go out and take some huge initiative because things are very particular already...BASICALLY...I just want something to do/look at in between times I AM working...

Work it to death. Take the initiative. Somewhere in your office building there is someone who could use your help. Go to your supervisor, I am sure that s/he can find something to keep you busy. You get paid for every minute you are on the clock so stop wasting your companies time. Time is money, if you are not productive sooner or later someone will bring it to the attention of the bosses and you will be out of a job.

How about actually showing initiative and doing something on your own?

Look at how the organization runs. Research current trends that may affect the business. You should be applying the knowledge you learned in your classes to this business.
