The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.
I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.
Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.
Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:
* Commercial and Residential Cleaning Services: A Resource Guide to Developing and Maintaining Your Own Janitorial or Home Cleaning Business by Walter Fenix
* Start and Run a Home Cleaning Business by Susan Bewsey
* Start Your Own Cleaning Service (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Ups) by Jacquelyn Lynn
* How to Start a Home-Based Housecleaning Business, 2nd (Home-Based Business Series) by Laura Jorstad
There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures! |

First you need to get a business license, than you need to get insured and bonded. After that you can advertise with your business card at schools, churches, grocery stores, hospitals, newspaper, anywhere. |

First ask friends and family if they know someone that is looking for someone to clean for them. Make up some business cards put a little magnet on the back and put them on mail boxes or inside. Once you get one or two people get them to spread the word about what good work you do. |

you know, private doctor's office are better than houses. you only need to use one cleaning agent and a vacuum. that's pretty much it since everything in a doctor's office has to adhere to those same osha audit rules. also, in a doctor's office there is a storage for everything which also followqs those audit rules.
if you clean houses, they always complain about you moving things or stealing things! and on top of that the doctor pays more!
just send flyers to doctor's offices or talk to the receptionists or whatever. doctors usually tell the receptionists to look for better deals in medical supply catalogs, so receptionists are a good idea.
good luck |

start with someone you know, and let them spread the word, before oyu know it, you will have too many houses, trust me, its worked for me! |

My aunt started her own cleaning business and the way she built up her clientele was by driving around and putting flyer's in news paper boxes. Remember, you can't put them in the mail boxes because it's not legal. She went around to the nicer neighborhoods to put the flyer's out. Make sure you have good cleaning products and good equipment. |

Post an ad on Craig's List. That's where I've found my last two house cleaners. My current cleaner also uses environmentally safe products (which she makes herself).
How do I get a thumbs down for this? Come now, angry people, I didn't smack you, your mama did. |
