I'm working on starting my own business now with my aunt and mom as my initial sales people. I dread being a worker bee. I am no worker bee! I am a leader with a broad range of skills that don't get used or improved upon behind a cubicle wall. I have a great job, anyone would want it. But I loathe being a number in a big monster company. I want to be my own boss and make my own schedule. I am happy whenever I talk to people about my ideas. that's how I know my current job is not for me other than paying the rent. |

Like an idiot I waited until late 30's to start my own business. That is the only regret.
I got fed up working for insurance companies, so I got fired on purpose and took the severence $ and started my own insurance claims vendor company. I still earn mt money from insurance companies without the moron bosses or stupid rules.
Started out on my own and for a long time I netted less $ but was so much happier and way better off than sitting in a cubicle farm. Have a couple of employees now and it is going well. I would recommend starting a business to most anyone. The important part is to plan it out and then do something you know well.
Good Luck |

18, with family, no regrets. Make sure its something that you're very knowledgeable about or something that youre at least interested in. I did it because of the flexible hours and great money. I work from home so its a different story, but if something that youre passionate about, i say go for it!
oh and its an investing business... we have several clients |

I started selling lia sophia jewelry because it was simple to do, a great product, GREAT money, and the investment was very small.
I was 25
Absolutely no regrets...I love it!
I am in business "alone", but my husband is supportive and there is a fantastic network of supportive advisors and managers, so you're never truly "alone" in the biz.
I recommend this to someone who is independent, highly motivated, and has big dreams. |

I joined the family business on its centenary in 1967 when I was 21, the factory buildings were up to 200 years old and I managed to find within 5 years investors which allowed me to move to a brand new facility, unfortunately 15 years later those same investors forced me out. I went self emplyed for a while but that was very difficult as it was a manufacturing business and everything was down to me making ,selling, delivering, just could not get the business big enough to employ others. But through that business I got involved with another company again in manufacturing and was involved in distribution and sales over the UK, Middle and Far East, again however that company failed after 7 years.
I have now found a distribution business which I run from home and which allows me at present to work in 19 different countries building teams of reps in each country, in actual fact all I and my teams do is acquire a few customers for a company which I am in partnership with, it is simple but the great thing is I now earn a residual income, as I get a percentage of all my, and my teams customers bills.
I am now nearly 61 years old and I can honestly say that after nearly 40 years working in business I have never come across a business opportunity anything like the one I am now in. The founders of the company I am in partnership with are absolutely fantastic their ethics, honesty and integrity are second to none and are exactly the type of people most would want to work alongside.
If you would like any further information I can be contacted through my 360 profile. |

32 years old. I was tired of making someone else rich. I was tired of asking permission for days off. I have a home based business that is so wonderful. I work with warm wonderful people and I get to help people as well. The residual income that keeps building is wonderful.

i just started my business in October and i am 22. my business is kinda different i work from home but work outside of home too. i am an independent designer for home and garden party. i make 40% commission and don't worry about shipping the product to the customers or keeping any inventory. i love the products i sell so that makes a large difference, i don't regrets any of it. i would recommend doing something that you believe in if you were to sell a product or service that you didn't like yourself don't do it. it makes all the difference. so i would suggest something that you can enjoy, and what you have to get started with i spent on 99 dollars to start, and that was what i could afford, and i don't have a loan to pay back. make a pros and cons list about a few different ideas if you cant make up your mind. good luck! |

I'm tired of being stuck in a no where job that I dread. Standing by watching the business owner become wealthy while I stay poverty stricken. I hate getting up at the butt crack of dawn and working into the arm pit of dusk. I hate not being compensated wage wise what I'm really worth. Finally this is 21st century "SLAVERY" and I'm "NO ONES SLAVE"!! I work for myself and retain all the profit as well as schedule what I feel is good for me. I don't have any conflict of interest or bad attitudes to deal with employee wise. I love being independent of all those negative aspects of the working world. Plus I'm financially independent with more "FREE" time than anyone working the 9 to 5!! |
