You may find some very helpfull business card tips at www.doranpeck.com
Your card would benefit greatly by putting 2 short testimonial quotes from previous clients.
also....think about something that might be the most pressing need in the babysitting arena and then decide if you can tackle it...if so...advertise such a solution.
for example...the biggest gripe parents might have with finding a baby sitter is that none like to work on saterday or sunday, or Friday night. ...you could salve this dilemna.
somehting else thats might catch some attention.....put a package deal on your card.
"Date night super saver" or something....you give a special price for one night a week so a couple can go have a date night.
Another idea might be....go visit a few managers from local (non-chain) restaurants, and see if you can get permission to print up 20-50 coupons (with their signature on it) that you could distribute with your card...or even ON your card, as added incentive for parents to use you.
a smart restaurant manager would go for this because of added trafic to his store that might not have otherwise been there.
negotiating tip: ...restaruants are slower on Sundays...your coupon could help bolster sunday sales if it were good only on sundays) |

Name, Phone number, hours of availability.
Look at a real business card and copy the ideas from it.
The most important thing is to have a phone number where you can be easily reached.
Good for you, this a great way to do this! |

home phone, maybe some sort of boundries of where you can go, age, amount of experience, etc. NOT PRICE! let them offer, usually they will offer more than you would have asked for. |

You've pretty much heard it dozens of times
Name, Pic, and phone only
here's some advice - when you get them - put em up at baby & children clothes stores, day care centers, your local YMCA, local gyms
I would also stop at your local high class hotels and speak with the General Manager, and ask to have them refer families that are staying there visiting their family in the area, that might need a babysitter so the parents can go do some adult stuff with family members.
I've worked in the industry - and I would get requests like this at least once a week - basicly - can I refer them to a babysitter that can be trusted. |

You mean "business card?" Do not list your address as there's no reason to, since your phone number will be on there. You need to list a phone number & if you have cell or Trac phone, list that number so your address & home phone number will always be kept a secret. |

Don't put your address on there for sure. |

you should put where you can be reached and, like how much you charge and when your willing to work, all the information the parents will need to know. |

You should put your adress,
so of course they will know where you live.
But if you dont feel safe about putting it there,
put your cell number and when a custumer calls that is interested tell them your adress.
You should put your name on it and the times in which you babysit...and what ages.
and mabye decoration would be nice. |

put your hours you will work, your home phone number because if you use your cellhpone then it will waste all your minutes, put your address on because if they want to talk to your parents how long your working or something like that, how much you are charging, put your age, and a picture of you so they know what you look like.
