Offer a repeat customer discount. Say 5 or 10 percent off for repeat business. Or do a pay for 5 get one free system. That would keep me coming back. |

When I sent thank you notes and busniess cards I always wrote on the back of the cards "Cheerfully referred by James and Donna Smith" I always included three. That gave them enough to give out until the next time they got a note from me with another three cards all "Cheerfully" on the back.
I did 50% of my second years business with referrals. |

You could give them a discount, which doesn't have to be large, and just thank them for their business. Businesses do it all the time.
And the word you are using is spelled clientele. |

Each time the customer returns progressively change up the word "NICE" with upbeat words like Splendid, Gorgeous,etc.
Incorporate things like, "Happy Valentine's Day", Wishing You A Very Happy New Year", Happy St. Patrick's Day".
Use different color ink to correspond with the holiday.
Let your personality, wit, humor and appreciation dictate.
And Sweetie, please remember YOU are worth every penny and unless you have a money tree your hard earned dollars can be well spent on mass advertising, rather than relying on word of mouth from offering discounts on thank you notes.
My business is thriving, I would encourage you to hold out on discounts and use them as a last resort. |

A special price for the next visit with a short expiry date....or a special no cost (to you) extra service....I can't give any examples because I have no idea what you do. Bundle a couple of your offerings together in a special deal.
Work with another non-competing business and give-away something (their coupon etc...) restaurant, hair cutter, chimney sweep, water vendor whatever. |
