A small shop on the corner. Around are grocery stores, hairdressers, pet shops, and a pharmacy, bookies and cigarette and alcohol shop.
It is situated in a quiet town with a relatively small populationa nd sphere of influence.
What would be a good business to set up in this premises, if the possible owner has no specific skills (e.g. no skills in hairdressing, antiques etc.)

hiya,a second hand cloths shop will go a treat.with money so short. people can buy good as new from your shop.go to jumble sales buy any age/men/women/kids cloths,wash them and iron them put on coat hangers.you will make a bomb.one has open up in our town,its always pack out. |

maybe you could open a newsagents or maybe a small clothing shop lol, i dnt own a business but i am thinking about starting one up and im thinking the same way as you are, maybe you need to think about what kind of shop you think would be help full to you in your every day experience, what is missing??? |

What about a sort of swap shop...you know get rid of your crap and browse someone else`s..you could call it "change hands"..bit like an e-bay shop...i know i`d use it to part with all the shoes/clothes etc that i no longer wear/use. |

How about a deli? A bakery either one that only makes bread or one that also sells sweet baked good. A florist shop, unique kind of boutique like Pier 1 Imports. Just be sure you have a good business to take to the SBA fir a loan unless you already have financing. Be prepared to not see only a little profit for the first 6 months or so. In the beginning you will have to put any profits right back in the business so you don't fold before you get started. Good luck |
