Creative | Whats is your best advice in opening up a dispute in paypal? |
How should the dispute be written? Do disputes even work to get your money back? |

My best advice is to not do it at all if you're the seller. PayPal hates the seller and does every thing it can to rip the seller off. Don't even bother.
If you're the buyer, don't worry about writing up a decent dispute, just ask PayPal for your money back and they'll do all the work for you. |

What are you disputing? The reason I ask, there are a lot of scams going on pretending to be PayPal. |

It depends on what you bought. Read their policies carefully on getting refunds before you waste the time. I have never had any luck getting money back from them, but my items were "excluded" (antique coin and video game). Two other times (jewlery, purse) the scammers closed their paypal accounts before PayPal could get the money back from them (so I "won" but never saw a refund). In writing the dispute, give them all the facts you can. Date and item purchased, any communication with seller, date of expected delivery, problem (broken, not as advertised, never arrived, etc). They will respond to you when they get and review the dispute. Good luck, and hope you get your refund. |

I have had two Paypal disputes, both as a buyer. I was charged $491 for a CD that was less than $5 and it took over six months to get the money back. The other one was an error on the sellers part that they realized and corrected but after I started the dispute process. Paypal was useless on both issues. If the seller decided not to make good on our transaction I have no doubt that I would have been out of luck. I use Paypal only if I absolutely have to and will never put an ATM check card on Paypal. If it is a small amount you are trying to recover I would not bother at all. |

Yes, they do work - depends what your grounds for opening it are though! remember that PP/Ebay will deduct around ÂŁ15 for admin charges too.
Keep it factual - just state that item is not received, or not as described, or fake, or whatever.
Good luck. |

I have Paypal -- they usually respond to email but there is also a phone number. Maybe it would be best to call if the amount is significant. |

Be professional and don’t make it any longer than 2 paragraphs. Yes they do work; I have used the dispute option before. |
