You have 2 main objectives in answering this question.
1. You need to convince the employer that you like the company and think it is a place that you see as a good company This must be done without being to brash or sounding like it's sucking up.
2. You must sell yourself by being professional and showing you have a knowledge of the company and have the skills and knowledge to bring something (yourself), to the company as a good thing. |

It depends on what the company is, but you should mention that you enjoy whatever the work is (if it's shoes, say how shoes interest you). I don't think it's best to say something about "learning, gaining experience, etc." It sounds like you don't know what you are doing and need to learn. Say that the job interests you and that you like working in a team and are excited to offer your skills to someone who will appreciate them. |

Questions like this are a waste of an interviewer's time and a waste of yours. Think about this question carefully, and you'll realize it's an insult to the applicant. It means they expect you to beg for a job, and they are fishing to see how much they can get away with. Any time I've been presented with a question like this it resulted in employment that I eventually left for a REAL job.
Here's what you should do:
Dodge the question as well as possible, make sure that your qualifications for the job have been clearly expressed to the interviewer, look at your watch, and leave as soon as possible, hopefully to be interviewed where your talents will be appreciated. |
