Get a job. I worked at a local catering company for a long time when I was a teen. I only worked on the weekends, and once in a while after school. It was a good way to make extra money, to help pay for gas, etc. Also, since the weather's nice, try mowing lawns or something. That' pretty lucrative. |

Landscaping or a job with manual labor will make you a good deal of money for the summer in particular. I have friends who have been building pools every summer and they started at $10 an hour at age 16, and now at age 23 are making $18 as foremans. I also have friends who did landscaping and have made a good deal of money as well.
If you are looking for some experience and for an easy job, work for a movie theatre. You get free passes, work in AC, and as an usher all you will be asked to do is to clean theatres. I became an assistant manager after a year and was making $10 an hour while earning valuable management experience that really came in handy after college. |

I know that this sounds just like everyone else you have talked to, but get a job at a fast food place. Mow lawns, pull weeds. A great place to get a job is with a carpenter, or a cement contractor. I suggest this because of a couple of reasons. One, it will teach you the value of a dollar, money is not free. Also you will appreciate a good hard day´s work. It will encourage you to study harder in high school and in college so you won´t end up living your life doing those jobs you hate. But the most important thing of all, these kind of jobs teach you to work. In a job like any of these above suggested you can´t sit around and just get paid. |
