delboy9448 | Whats the best way for me to advertise my new business all over uk. cheaply? |
|

just trying to make a difference
|
1) get a free listing on yell.com and through 118 247, see this for details.. http://www.yelldirect.com/freelisting/home.html
2) also try thompson.. http://www.thomson-directories.co.uk/contact/promote.asp
3) if you have a website then design some sort of affiliate programme, or get like-minded businesses to link to your website and vise-versa.
4) consider PPC (pay per click) if you have a website, i heard it can be very effective, see this for more info... http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/en_GB/arp/srch.php?o=GB0176
5) try google adwords, advertising, it's low cost and effective.. https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/Login?sourceid=AWO&subid=UK-ET-ADS&hl=en_GB
6) put posters, leaflets and flyers out around your local area
7) NETWORK - it really does work!
8) to reach a more targeted audience think about advertising in a trade magazine or attend a trade fair (might be more expensive but you'll get yourself right in front of those who want to buy from you!)
9) see the site of Chris Cardell, marketing genius, and sign up for his free e-newsletter for some inspirational ideas.. http://www.cardellmedia.com/marketingtools.html
10) word of mouth is always good, offer rewards to your customers for making referrals
...just some ideas, hope these help x
PS. nearly forgot! use vistapint.com for really low cost marketing materials, ie business cards, postcards, magnets etc which you can send to everyone.. if you use the .com and not .co.uk site it's much cheaper! http://www.vistaprint.com/ |

Unquestionably, the best form of advertising is word of mouth.
Just put yourself out there, where prospects are and let people find out about you and what you do.
Always, if possible, give them something (I'm not talking about a business card) such as a little tip or piece of information that can help them. They will remember you.
They may never use your product/service but they will tell others about you and do it in a very positive way.
You will be amazed at how people will contact you saying that they heard about your business from someone else.
Remember that, for a small business, the most important thing is not the product or service - it's you!
Good luck |

Try making up some postcard sized adds and putting them up in shops/post offices and through letter boxes of potential clients. |

Where I work, local business can have free internal advertizing in return for a staff discount on goods or services, might be worth ringing round a few bigger business near you, it would be a start! |

try free classifieds by craigslist. Also Google Adwords could be great.

Why not try it on here - everybody from Sainsburys right down to the bloke trying to sell his crap on ebay or the one flogging his dating agency do it - but do it subtly so as we don't notice it otherwise you'll get reported for "Spam and advertising", but that doesn't apply to John Sainsbury doing cheap market research - and there's all the people who reply because they haven't got the nous to see what's going on under their noses ! It really makes me wonder ! |
