For one thing you need a product to sell. You can try anything from babysitting for neighbors, washing and or walking dogs, feeding the cat or fish while people are on vacation, lawn and yard work, or even light housecleaning for the elderly. You can e-mail and add to all the people you know or print one out for your parents to post at their workplace. The newsletter can be posted in the same ways. You need to have a business e-mail address people can use to contact you and arrange for services and that all of you can access(one of your parents can set it up). You also have to set a price for your services either per job or per hour. You need a catchy business name and ad phrase too (such as "Paws for Reflection: We'll come over and wash your rover" for dog washing and walking services or "By the Yard: We'd love to Weed" a lawn care service). Use your imaginations. The sky is the limit. Best of luck to you.

Are you trying to make money? I'm not sure either of your suggestions will do that.
Why would sending E-letters to each other constitute a business?
How about washing/detailing cars, baby sitting, mowing lawns...?
