No, as a seller, when you write the auction, if you are smart, you always state prominently that you will only refund the auction price and not S&H.
For returns, most sellers write into the auction that, the buyer pays shipping costs to get the item back to the seller.
In most cases, that I have seen, the seller pays S&H to get the replacement item back out to the buyer. This is because the shipping cost is not really what the seller charges for S&H
For many sellers on eBay, and other auction sites, the S&H is often where the sellers make their money for inexpensive items. |

The S & H is not part of the cost of the item so the buyer incurs the charge to receive the product. Now as far as if returns are allowed. That is between the buyer and the seller, but most times sellers list on their item that if returned S & H are to be paid by the buyer that is returning the item. Hope this helps. |

you need to find out all there is to know about selling on ebay before you get started. I found one program to be very helpful, they pretty much have all the answers. But before you buy anything from them, become an affiliate, it's free and then you make commission on the stuff you or others through you buy. |

Everyone seems to have the correct answer:
It is best to add a cut and dry return policy to your listing ...
Returns are generally left to the person that is returning the item.
Getting return business, may require that you offer to pay on a broken item. Insurance is a good thing to have as well.
Remember this about people, although there are alot of honest folks out there, there will always be that one...the one who wants to take what someone else has. Prepare yourself ahead of time with very direct listing. Leave no question as to your policy and you will have less of this happening.
We have supplied Ton's of ebay sellers...that is why we have a return policy in place to assist our sellers....we keep their customers happy and they get great feedback.

You can customize your return policy the way you want it. I personally offer a refund, but I do not refund shipping costs. I do post this in my eBay listing, so the buyers know this up front. Happy eBaying! |

They buyer pays for all returned item...but it is best not to take returns because people are dishonest and will use your item and not like it and return it and make it unsellable |
