There are not any "job" where you can work at home and make a decent wage. What you will receive in a low income, minimum waged job. I don't think this is sufficient enough with the way the economy is today. You should look into starting up a home based business. There are many different options. Ok heres the deal. 6 months ago I was a bored housewife/mom without a job, small child, wanted work. I went through about 4 or 5 scams for work at home programs, before I realized they were all scams. Through Yahoo Answers I found out about affiliate programs. I didnt even know what they were. Basically you sign up FOR FREE to be an affiliate for a company. You get a link to their website, and you promote that website through placing the link on any website that will let you place your link on their link page anyone who places an order using that link you get a commission. I have ended up using 2 health food companies to be an affiliate for. I am now making pretty good money at it. I spend about 6 hours a day on the computer, on my schedule... I love it. I hate to be the bearer of bad new but I don't think you're going to find anything like that.
As an international home business trainer (see my profile) I have found that there are so many "job" offers out there that actually want you to pay them to start working for them ?!?!?
So, if you're going to invest money into something, as already said here, you might be best to start your own on-line business.
Many of them have a low start up cost so check out who's legit, what they offer, what all is involved and if it's feasible. If you find something you think you'd like to do, make sure you know everything about that company before you get involved.

There's a few business that I've found that offered no money to start, but I got no real income. Pennies for all of my hard work. I've also paid alot of money for a start-up and got no help in return.

There are real jobs out there, you just got to know where to look. To start getting educated about work at home jobs you need to visit http://www.wahm.com message boards and read, read, read. There is tons of information there that will help you avoid scams. Next, go to http://www.workathomedesk.com which is a free site that has a directory of legitimate companies that hire home workers. Depending on your skills and experience, you should find some good leads there.

Honestly, I do not know of ANY that are legitimate that do not require you to invest some money. However, there are some legitimate businesses that will allow you to look for free and even train you for free, but require small start-up costs once you decide to join.
If you do find such businesses, and have checked their reputation out (how long have they been around and are they registered with the Better Business Bureau?), you might as well do the looking - ask questions - even take the training - and then make your final decision...if it's free, it can't hurt. You will become educated along the way.
I myself have an international home business training company that I absolutely love. There's more info about that in my profile if you'd like, but not everyone can do what I do so you'll want to pick something that really suits you. For me, making my own schedule, earning tax write-offs, not having to fight traffic, and actually doing something that matches my values is terrific!
