Big Dave down the pub will lend you £3k. Don't worry about the repayment, I'm sure he will take it out of you latter. |

You can't. Unless it's from a loan shark.
But then you pay it back with 500% interest a week then lose your knee caps after a fortnight. |

The DSS can give you a crisis loan of up to £1,500 (depending on how much you already owe to anyone else). I know it isn't enough but at least it's a start. It is interest free and they take a small payment each week/fortnight from your income support or what ever benefit you are on.
Hope this helps... |

a loan shark who will hound you and threaten you afterwards. Don't borrow money! If you don't work how are you going to pay it back?! |

Having a good credit history is important.
Not owning your own home shouldn't be an obstacle.
Not working? How are you going to make the repayments?
You could try friends and family for a loan, or perhaps find something valuable you could sell (if you can bear to part with it)? |

just trying to make a difference

well i've just read the answers given so far - what a load of pants!!!
i'm assuming as your question is in the small business section that you are wanting a loan go set up a business/ go self-employed??
being unemployed is the best time to do so, and there are loads of organisation that will offer you money for this even though you have no security (own home).
if you're under 30 the prince's trust may be able to offer a grant and/or loan, see http://www.princes-trust.org.uk/ for more info.
you can also use business link's website to search for funding, or phone them to ask... http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/
if it's not for business purposes, and you need it for personal reasons i suggest you talk to you local jobcentre plus or Citizen's Advice Bureau, and make sure to ask about loans and grants from the social fund which you could be eligible for, and may not even have to repay.
hope this helps |

Banks/Loan companies will be willing to look into providing you with that sort of money if you can offer someone who will guarantee your loan. They will have to be credit checked though, so the guarantor will have to have regular income. |
