Where can i work??

im 16 and i really need a job to make my car payments and so far the only places i know of that would hire me are fast food places........is there anywhere else a 16 year old can work other than with food

grocery store...being a cashier is fun...not saying the pay is great, but it keeps you busy, you get to meet a lot of people, and the hours are flexible.

also, there are lots of places at the mall you could work...maybe somewhere you buy your clothes. If you don't want to do fast food, you def don't have to...there are other options.

some clothes shops may take u on that but if u have no current job before hand tehn take the first job that comes 2 u cause atleast then u have something as back up
cause u wont belive that alot of shops that do take on 16 only but keep up the search u might find one even if u can one just go for one in a food i mean heck it aint all that bad its a job aint it

Depending on where you live....you can work in clothing stores, theaters, part-time office help, etc. If you are good in school tutoring/babysitting/e-bay!

Try retail or a hotel.

I will tell you of my experience.

At 13 I had my first job working at a carnvial with my best friend and made a whole 30$ (to which we bought matching outfits due to the fact we thought we were rich)

At 15 i worked at a small pizza place answering phones and dealing with customers (it was a horrible experience iranians that owned own business, i had to add everything on the calculator, i was never trained, i was scared and inexperienced... waitress stole my tips from the couple tables i watiressed there.. lasted 6 months :( just about)

At 16 i worked a year and a half as a waitress at Pizza Hut, once again horrible but it got me money, loved the job, hated working with people.

At 18, I worked so many jobs= random waitressing jobs, carwash (btw awesome job fun if you have friends with you), dog groomer/bather (fun yet hated the people i worked with, have to work with great people to love that job) cashier (hated it again the people thing), dietary aide at a nursing home (great job HARD work and messy but old people are cool) primer chick at an auto auction (laid back great hours, hard work! on your feet all day) and now i am a computer operator for U.S Customs and Border Protection, yet you need a BI for that and i finally get to sit down and surf the web haha!

Try internships or anything above that i listed that you think you'd be interested in. Check the papers frequently, go into animal stores, shelters, etc. or music stores and ask if they are hiring. What do you like to do? Apply that to ask companies for any assistance and lastly, persistence... is great... Employer will love that. Keep looking looking looking and applying applying applying.
