At sixteen, you're eligible to work at fast food places, department stores, and grocery stores. Some offices even hire teens. You might also do yardwork, paint, babysit, offer house cleaning services, run errands and if you're good at a particular school subject - offer tutoring. If you're theatrical or creative, hire yourself out as a clown at children's birthday parties or write and produce a play for your community or even organize a talent show. You could charge a couple of dollars and make some quick cash. Hope this helps! |

Of course there are many other options out there and then there is also the usual - cashier, waitress, fast food... etc. Best of luck, I hope you find something that is interesting, helps you grown and learn, builds friendships, and pays a decent wage!
Just because I noticed a comment on this - Don't be fooled by what people say about tellers at banks. Their wages suck and are not at all reflective of their duties. Plus, you have to take a LOT of crap from people! |

You'll need a work permit that your school can help with. The school often gets phone calls from employers looking for teens. Talk to the guidance counselors office to save alot of steps you don't need to take. |

I work for a place that employs a high school senior pt at night for basic warehouse duties and they started him at 10.00hr so i would recommend going to your local industrial park. you can also put this valuable work experience on a resume later on for instance most factories will start you at $.50-$2.00hr more for something like forklift experience |
