my fiances dad has just been told he won't be needed at his job after next month due to over staffing. Hes 60 years old and had trouble to get this job because of his age.(employers seem to think hes too old!)

Hi
Maybe http://www.easyearner.ws could be an option. Working from home.
I'm 56, and have the same problem. This could for you.
Cheers, Peter |

Plenty of places, although he may not make as much $$ as he used to. Places dont like to give a high salary to someone that age, because the cost of replacing them in a few years time when they retire is high. But lower wage places (Walmart, McDonalds, the Library, etc). are more than happy to hire them. Or he can always try a temp agency. |

Well NO ONE should be discriminating him because of his AGE! If they are telling him that, then they need a law suit filed!
Now, if he has a good resume and work history he should still be very employable!
Worst case he has to apply for social securtiy! |

He could work at walmart as a door greeter. all they do is greet people coming in, talk to people, check customer reciepts on the way out sometimes. Is he a people person? |

Walmart. I hate that place |

To refuse him work would be age discrimination. In any case, he could potentially start a business. I'm sure at age 60, he probably has many years of expertise in his field of work, or perhaps he has another passion he would like to pursue.
If he would like to start a business, I would be willing to employ him, dependent upon the result of his interview. |

there's no job that won't hire him because of his age. that's discrimination and it's illegal. if they don't hire him because of his lack of skills, that's a different story. he can work anywhere he wants as long as he's qualified. |

Hi there!
I have started my own home based business recently. I work on the internet and phone a few hours every day.
One of the many groups of people I help out to start a business of their own is the baby boomer generation. It's sad... the many issues that they have to face now and I always say that rather than look for other employment options where they may be asked to leave yet again... why not explore a business opportunity which can bring them out of the dumps and restore their lives once again?
Why I want to share my story with you is that the person who introduced me to this business is a baby boomer himself, 58 years old, and he is doing wonderfully for himself. He has been in this business for 2 years and last year he earned more than $200,000 and just 2 weeks back, he had a 19K week. I am not even half his age but I am in awe of his success... a person who didn't know how to handle a computer at all is not so successful.
Many of my other partners are also baby boomers and are doing very well... I do not want to give any more examples as people are generally conditioned to think that "this is too good to be true!". Well, in this case, it is. You just have to have an open mind to explore the information and then decide if this is right for you. It's your decision.
Please get in touch with me for more information. If required, my mentor would be glad to speak with her dad personally and help him out.
Before he decides to go with another labor job, please get him to check info on this business. It's worth a watch.
I wish her dad the very best in his search for future opportunities.
regards,
Namz |

Don't settle for McDonald's or a Wal-Mart greeter. Take control of your future, work 1-3 more years in a "B" business then retire. Most of all do your homework.
Good Luck!! |
