I was thinking of buying somthing i can make profit on maybie trainers or watches or somthing
but my mum was saying its a con but i just don't see it
for example 10 pairs of nike trainers for £100.00 that you could sell at 25 quid each and make a considerbly bigger proffit than what you paid it seems perfect to me especially these day were you can sell almost anywere stalls are easy to set up and don't cost much, theres news paper adverts and ebay and of course your local pub on a person to person level of selling
so can anyone see a problem with doing this?

No, I do it myself but be careful. Research the product you want to sell first to ensure it will sell well, eg look at Ebay shops that sell Trainers and see how well they are doing, avoid sellers with less than 98% positive and do not trade with zero feedback sellers. Make sure you have aback up fund eg If you've got £200 don't blow it all on one type of product, if it doesn't sell you're stuffed. |

Lots of Brand Names on Ebay are made in Taiwan or Corea or China. Good replicas but very poor quality. So be carefull ! |

job lots stuff tend to have defects, or a majority do. its like those dodgy auctions that offer you loads of crap in a bag for say £50 and when you get hopes its all rubbish stuff.
i personally wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. |

The problem with job lots is, if YOU could make more money selling them separately, so could the current seller, so why is he selling as a job lot?
Have bought job lots myself only to find that I can barely break even by reselling. Research carefully what the selling price of your item is, and don't take the seller's word for what they'll resell at.
Trainers and designer gear are invariably fake, You might get lucky with job lots of skin care products, which tend to resell quite well. Just make sure you know exactly what you're buying and EXACTLY what they sell for

If it looks too good to be true, then it usually is! Believe me, I've found that out the hard way. Bulk lots on ebay are probably the lowest of the low when it comes to profitability, they are usually just the scrag ends of someones business that they can't sell.
If they could be sold at a big profit the seller would do just that and not sell them as a job lot.
Also worth bearing in mind, if you do buy with the intention of selling for profit you are effectively entering self-employment and should register for tax, otherwise you risk a big fine for not declaring. |

Ive have done wholesale for the past 10 years just recently started to slow down.
