I have just set up my own business and although when i started i had all these idea's and was very confident... 2 weeks later and a major contribution with the weather i can seem to find the motivation to keep going.
There seems to be one problem after another knocking me back and although i knew it wasn't going to be easy i need some motivation to keep me going...anyone help? |

Working for yourself can be the hardest job in the world. No one tells you when to go to work or stop etc.
You must work for yourself just as hard as you would for anyone else. Discipline yourself to be at work by 8 a.m. Make yourself do the hard stuff, make phone calls or what ever your job is. Put in a full day so at the end you can genuinely say you tried.
When you lose motivation you start making excuses (like weather) then you stop doing the things that make you successful and then you feel bad about yourself. It becomes an endless cycle. You should become the hardest boss you ever had, get up work hard do your best and if things aren't looking up soon then say, "well, I really tried and it didn't work out this time, so I will try something different".

You are up against more than one problem.
First, actually starting something gets things to a "project completed" stage that leaves us wondering what next.
Second, actually having something going means a never-ending string of problems and challenges. This is why managers exist -- with no problems and/or challenges, we would not need managers, nor would there be any risk associated with owning/running a business. Unfortunately, not even most owners are actually good managers.
Third, bad weather alone brings on the blues and ruins motivation. With the additional stress of it interfering with income, depression becomes a real threat.
My best suggestion would be to find a sideline biz you can do in your down time. This would help fill that income gap the bad weather might cause, and it would keep your mind occupied while the rain falls.
More importantly, I would examine my entire business plan. Two weeks is very little time. If you cannot take a couple of 120 hour work weeks, self-employment is probably not for you because self-employment represents freedom only after hard earned success. So many things that seem to happen magically when we work for someone else take our time and attention when we do our own thing. Our time is no longer our own -- until we can afford to hire someone (or more than one someone) to substitute their time for ours. I have read studies stating the average manager is interrupted in his efforts once every four minutes on average -- and these are normally problems because they would otherwise not need manager attention.
Two weeks of pure heck to achieve a dream -- deal with it. |

Disillusionment, because it was not as easy as you thought perhaps??, running a business with all the Health and safety issues etc is never going to be easy, just stick with it and stay focused |

are you passionate about what you are doing? if so use this to get your motivation back - however if there are lots of problems you need to look at why, is it something which can be fixed by having some training, or out-sourcing some work? or do you need to step back and look if it's working or not? being a good business person is about knowing when something isn't working, if you can't get things on track then don't feel bad about stopping - you'll learn loads from the experience and can try something else.

I would say:
1. 'Make a space to allow you to move'...this can be a mental space or a real space (is yr workspace a total mess?). By mental space I mean are there a dozen tiny jobs that need sorting urgently eg email/calls from clients: clear them away to let yourself breathe/think.
2. Find yourself a 'way in' -make a start on something you have put off due to procrastination, lack of motivation. 'Trick' yourself into doing something! Focus on how you will feel when its done...decide to reward yourself when its completed...
3. Start everything...make a small start on everything you have to do then it won't need such a massive leap of motivation to return to these to finish them off.
Think of motivation as a resource...like a golden chalice of energy or just a rechargable battery if you like...it gets topped up by getting new work, doing a good job etc and depleted by all the little hassles and problems....you have to manage yr motivation - it won't just keep going. So stop and do something else, go for a walk, get re-focussed, top up the battery.. I have been strugglling for 7+ years and it is hard work. One day it will pay off. Dont give up now...give up in a year of it really isnt working. |

hmm..keep thinking about the money you'll win and what you could do with them.try to extend your bussiness,thing which may give you some entuziasm. search on the internet what you should do to make that bussines to work better...like a hobby

Fatigue
Feeling tired all of a sudden? No, make that exhausted. No one knows for sure what causes early pregnancy fatigue, but it's possible that rapidly increasing levels of the hormone progesterone are contributing to your sleepiness.
You should start to feel more energetic once you hit your second trimester, although fatigue usually returns late in pregnancy when you're carrying around a lot more weight and some of the common discomforts of pregnancy make it more difficult to get a good night's sleep. |

Hi, I fully understand your feeling! I set up my own biz 2 years ago. In these 2 years, it seems to me that problems keeping coming and coming and coming...and at one point, i wanted to give up!
Finally, i got my son writing a note " Never give up" and I posted it right on my working table. Everytime when I feel bad, I look at the note and it helps me a lot.
try to get someone you really love to encourage you. I hope it will help. Also, keep praying, God will help you.
