I have so many things I'd like to do, I have two businesses I'm trying to run right now but I cant get them off the ground. One is a distributorship for Himalayan Goji juice (of which I'm a total believer and am very adamant about telling people about it) but I can't get anyone to buy it. It seems like people don't believe me. I even started a google adwords account but no one goes to my website.
My other (side) business is making cashmere accessories and selling them, but I never get any sales. I have a real fear of success, I think. I want them to work out and be successful, but it seems like every time I try and sell something, I say something stupid and then people don't believe me. I am starting to feel like such a loser because I've tried to start ten businesses in my life (im 23, young, I know) and none of them work. Why do some people have success right away and others can't at all? I'm really sad about this. It's ruining my life plans. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

At 23 you have tried to start 10 businesses, you are currently trying to start 2. I think the answer is in that - Your attention span is to short and you lack focus. It would appear you do not commit or put enough resources into anything and become disappointed and move on when they are not an instant success.
Harsh but you need to grow up. Develop a solid business plan and be focused on one thing. See it through the tough early years and give time to develop. Stop expecting an instant lottery style success.
And forget about online advertising at company startup - you need to develop from a local basis. This Dot com millionaire thinking is nonsense. Advertisers like to push it as the way to promote things in the 21st century but this is bull. 99.999 etc % of people regard online adverts as an intrusive nuisance. |

i dont like to read so i listen to them on cd. but one thing that is talked about is how failure is one key to success, im sure youve learned alot from your experiences so far. keep going be persistent, & you will get where you want to be. i think the statistic is something like most people fail about 10 times before finally succeeding in business & most businesses are out of business by the 5th year. but the ones who succeeded are ones who also failed many times before they finally got where they wanted to be & there are many glaring examples of this in these books, people im sure youve heard of, colonel sanders the kfc guy, abraham lincoln. you should be very proud of yourself for trying & you are obviously sticking to it. |

The test of your mettle is what you do when things aren't going so good. I built a multimillion dollar business, but it took my 15 YEARS to get here. At 23, I dont know if you have commit ed 15 MONTHS to this, but it sounds like you are losing focus, and that can be the death knell for your business. It wont sell itself, YOU have to do that.. |

you need to start with projections and work with goals, you need to understand that a business does not generates profits right away . Place a goal to get your break even point.
