In my opinion it's because the owners and managers start off too high up the ladder.
If they would get some experience and practice first, they might have a better chance at success.
Where I really see this is on the Internet, you can't enter a Masters Program if you haven't finished Kindergarten, can you?

Because Americans would rather buy stuff at Wal-Mart, sold by underpaid employees, made by underpaid workers in developing countries.... just to save a few bucks....
rather than support a hard working small business owner.
It's easy to start a business in America, but hard to compete.

The number 1 reason why small businesses fail is because they do not know how to market themselves to their potential market. Not enough small businesses put enough funds towards marketing. Marketing a small business should be on going especially if the market is tight. The only time do you let up on some marketing is when the market is good and you see alot of activity for weeks. Every business will experience a slow period but that is when you market more heavily. |
