Wife of 12 years and work for husband, but he won't pay me. What's up? He's the man with excuses.

It's always, I am waiting for a check and then I'll put money in your account; OR baby, I just don't have it. I'm at a loss because I don't know whether to kick his behind or call a lawyer or leave him. Justice? There ain't none - he's totally not fair and keeps the money secret.

Well if I were you I would divorce him and then sue him. Really the money belongs to both of you, but he has no right to keep the finances secretive. You need a man who treats you as an equal, not a slave!

get another job, do an asset search, if you break up you want to know where all the money is kept, if you don't know where it is at, you will likely get screwed, it even seems suspicious as if he is planning to leave you

Nana
never work FOR your spouse. That's just a weird relationship from the get go.

Either stop working for him and find a job else where- remember some pay is better then no pay so don't make the excuse "but I can't find a high paying job". Just start somewhere.

Or you can leave him. A couple with a few secrets is healthy, but if he isn't sharing your finacial stand point, there's a problem. He shouldn't be handling all the finances because he could be doing stuff you don't approve of. You should have freedom to make decisions too.

Keep in mind though, if he takes care of all the money, he'll be really difficult to divorse because everything is in his name and you'll be left with nothing.

So if you were to leave him, get a job on your own, earn some money, get some stuff in your name, and then leave him so divorcing won't be such a shock.

Why don't you just get a new job somewhere else? That's what I would do. Then you don't have to leave him; just have separate lives (at least separate work lives!)

You already know the answer to your question. Admit it. Accept it and deal with it appropriately. If that's an acceptable relationship for you, fine. If you want credit for your work, accept that you're going to have to fend for yourself, and go for that. Your future is in your hands. Decide, and then act. Good luck to you, sweetie.

How does he explain that legaly to the accountant?

Stop working for him and do your own thing. Tell him you have other interests you want to pursue career wise.

If that doesnt get his attention and motivate him to "reorganize his current proceedures" ...then you consider the alternative of leaving him.

No woman should have to put up with a sissy man.

I say make sure you dont have a prenuptial agreement then divorce and take what you are owed and maybe abit more.

embee
Oh, that's BIG BS- and the longer you let him completely take advantage of you the harder this'll be to walk away from.

What's the deal? That's so wrong. Men are such idiots.

Okay- so here's what you do: you "can't do it this time, baby"
you "just don't have it right now" .

This is going to feel so wrong to you- you'll get a stomach-ache and maybe a headache. That's because it's become a habit to comply with his wishes, and any habit is hard to break- your comfort zone is threatened.

That's a GOOD thing, though, because it means you are defending your self-respect.

Tell him you're gonna get a REAL job. Phantom paychecks don't pay the bills.

He'll pout he'll cry & he might even dig a hole in the backyard(it seems to be all the rage these days,) but he's just not used to you having a healthy attitude and putting YOURSELF first instead of him.

Get a cat.

the real problem is - you been married to this man for 12 years and dont have control over the money to just take your share??? i would draw the line and lay down the law- if your working your butt off for him then you deserve to be paid , Demand you get your name put on the accounts - as a wife of 12 years its the least that you deserve , and as a employee you by law deserve the money you worked for - so he needs to be ok with you taking it every week. or like the other person said...start walkin. he will be more scared of divorce cause a lawyer will be taking alot more then a weekly paycheck from him.
you could try report him to the unemployment department- and let them know to keep your name private cause you dont want to cause any "workplace issues".
