Sometimes, a lot of women are stupid and get hired just to take work off. They "cant work" when they are pregnant so they just get paid for doing nothing. |

They could. Will they? Unless you are a HUGE asset to them when you come back. They don't want your first paycheck to be for having a baby. You would never be able to prove you were discriminated against for being pregnant unless you could get your hands on the qualifications of the other person and you had ALL of theirs and more.
If you went to court and you had qualifications- A,B,C, and E
And they had A and D. The company would obviously say that D is very important to them. Unless you had A,B,C,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L, etc. would you be hired.
I would advise you not to apply. |

If you are qualified and ambitious, a good company will hire you, but you may not be eligible for maternity leave. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy! |

legally they cannot discriminate against pregnant women, if you are not very far along I wouldn't tell them up front, then show them you're a good worker and then tell them when you need to. |

They cannot discriminate against a pregnant woman, as long as you can perform the "required" task .. its against the law. Not saying that there is a good chance that a company many feel someone may be more qualified... Hope all goes well.. |

it's against the law to not hire a woman due to pregnancy, but good luck trying to prove it |

why wouldn't they??
If a pregnant woman can prove she didn't get hired just because she's pregnant. she could sue the company. |

You cannot be denied employment because you're pregnant. |

i dont see why not but its better if your married and pregnant but if you employ and are pregnant without a husband it is harder to jugle a kid and a job |

Yes, they are supposed to I think it's against the law not to, unless the woman is too near the end of her pregnancy. |

Of course it will, otherwise it would be decrimination. Just be mindful that certain companies with say the you are not a good fit even if you are the best candidate just to avoid training someone who will be absent for a while. |

In the US it is illegal to discriminate against a woman because she is pregnant. Proving that you were is another matter. |

Yes. They can't not hire you for that reason. You might however, find that a lot of companies might not give you an interview but a lot will. You can not be turned away due to pregnancy.......... |

You will be hard pressed to find one. A friend of mine could not even find a part-time job because she was pregnant. Companies will not hire people whom they know will have to take time off very soon.
She found a job as a secret shopper and a makeup company representative, if that helps. They make their own hours. |

Why not, I don't see any point they shouldn't unless it is the company code or policy not to because of the nature of the work and place and position of the job.......and if not in her last trimesters of pregnancy........thats ridiculous I suppose ,when you look for a job and you are about to deliver the baby............so i think it is ok...and who is pregnant? |

its against the law for them to fire a pregnant woman, but I am not sure about hiring. It might be hard for you thought. But look in retail they are all hiring xmas help |

They have to hire you if they would hire you were you not pregnant. In other words, its illegal to take into consider a person's pregnant status as a reason to deny emplyment. That would be discrimination. If you are qualified that's all that matters. |

I am nearly 4 months pregnant and my pregnancy is now showing. I am wondering if any company will employ me as I'm looking for a job. |
