There are several things you can do from home. Like at home customer care representative, transcription, writer, proofreader, editor, blogger, telemarketing from home, mystery shopping, virtual assistant, and freelance projects. One good resource for legitimate companies is http://www.workathomedesk.com which is a free site. If you go to the work at home directory area they have companies listed by type of work. You can check the legitimacy of a company at http://www.wahm.com message board which has a wise work at home community. Hope this helps! |

If you live in the US and are interested in a JOB as a virtual rep, send me an email through answers and I will send you some links to legit sites that hire 'home workers'. These are JOBS - and always keep one thing in mind when looking at something that claims to be a job.... if you went to Wal-mart to apply for a job, would they ask for a fee before handing you an application?
Avoid being scammed and don't fall for the claims of making quick money at a job - especially when they hold their hand out for money to tell you how or get you started.

Hi there, this is a question lots of people ask and believe me 90% of the replies are scams, either looking for you to give them more information or get you to pay them for an Ebook. I finally had enough of getting up at 6.15am, leaving for work at 7am, a 2 hours drive to work and another 2 hours in the evening, before finally arriving home at the earliest 8pm and its usually closer to 9pm. So I have been researching the genuine work from home opportunities which are available and thought I'd share this information for free with anybody else who's also interested.

I got caught with this at the beginning, I paid $50 for an ebook, but it didnt actually contain any useful information. Basically what they suggested was I re-sell the ebook, so that was their plan for a work at home job, I'd have to convince other people to give me $50. Anyways I wasnt interested in that as a Work from Home job. So hopefully other people won't make the same mistake as me and waste money like that

My wife does Avon. She does OK now, but it took a awhile to get to that point. It cost $10 to get started. She has been at it now for about 8 years. She has not worked particularly hard at growing her business, but always kept plugging away at it slowly.
The problem with Avon and other businesses opportunities like it, is that you have to purchase your catalog from them and distribute to potential customers. I believe Avon charges about $19 for 100 catalogs. It has been our experience that you get a response rate of maybe 0.5%, which is not that great.
There are alot of Avon Reps out there already, so I would check around your area before going into anything like this.

I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you.
Also have a look at the jobs listed here, most are applicable to USA,canada,europe, its quite good, thats where I found the above link.

Its been updated yesterday to include some Craft type jobs which can be done from home, mainly re-distribution, but it possible to make good money from it if you work hard.
So many online jobs are out there. In fact, to do any online job, you need not want to invest anything. Make sure, you dont pay anything to get jobs online. The easiest way to make money on-line is to be someone’s affiliate (selling other people’s products). You need to search which product to sell.

There is a real income system through which you can earn life long. They do not promise to make you a millionaire over night but the income is steady and slowly builds up to substantial amount. If you just register with them, you pay a small one time fee and that's it. Even if you never go back to their site their system keeps on paying you automatically. You do not even have to claim your money; it comes automatically to your account every month.

My business/marketing teacher's wife sells goods at eBay. EBay these days is more convinet since you can ship stuffs from your house. You should contact local suppliers and see if they are interested in selling goods to you. And then you can sell those in Ebay! |

Any site that asks for money, OR you don't understand how the money is made, OR its too good to be true (get rich fast scheme) run! Surveys are hard, not a lot of them out there that you can qualify for, plus they take time. Usually like 30 minutes for $3. Did it, doesn't pay. What I do and its totally free. Forever. I'm off with a broken hand, so it HAS to be free. If you want contact me and I will send you the website. Its registered with the Better Business Bureau The video explains it all. Check out the Direct Selling Women's Alliance (mydswa.org) for legitimate at home opportunities. I am a Tupperware Director and I like what I do. Find a company that you like and will work best for you. The best thing about this is that you have the flexibility to work when you can. In researching hundreds of home business opportunities prior to leaving the workforce, I found very few that did not make me very nervous. There will be people who make a great deal of money but statistics show that most do not. Often those who make money, make it off of those who sign up and fail or from "get started for $ fees". Look for programs where the profit is based on people succeeding not just on joining. I finally went with a company that was totally free. That felt the best to me. I get to make money while supporting a charitable organization. If this interests you at all, please contact me.....I do not make any money when you join for free. I would try bookkeeping. You can take a class and learn how to do it...You need to learn a bookkeeping program like Quickbooks, and buy the programs yourself so you have them on your computer. |

I am a stay at home mom AND a Tupperware consultant. I do about 2 parties a week (outside the home). I try to do them when my kids are at school or they're busy/ I love the fact that I work my schedule around theirs. I also do alot of online sales. I have customers all over the country. There's also FREE online training and weekly conference calls. You don't have to go out to do parties, you can just offer book parties or online parties.
