I work from home and make pretty good money! I'm not gonna tell you I make thousands a day or week but I make a couple thousand a month! I hope this help!

Job seekers seem to imagine that there are hundreds of businesses out there in need of people to type. Typing is easy! A business can pay an international freelancer pennies to complete easy typing projects. They do NOT need to hire a $10 per hour home based worker !
Think about it.... what exactly do you think these businesses "do" that would require all of this data entry?? Take a look at your next Sunday newspaper classifieds and count how many NON home based data entry jobs or typing jobs (that are not scams!) you can find. I'll bet you'll see five or less. Why? Because businesses do NOT need entry level typists and data entry people (not even in a more traditional setting). This is a very outdated field. Software programs, low cost labor and automatic systems have made a 'typist' obsolete. So why would employers who are already offering the great benefit and flexibility of working from home want to hire a 'human' data entry clerk??? "

With that said - I am sure that you have other skills that you can utilize when looking for a work at home job. Maybe you are a fast typer - if so - look at transcription instead of data entry. Maybe you are good at customer service - many companies are hiring for people to answer their phones. Look outside of the box and you will see that there are plenty of jobs out there other than data entry...

Most data entry and so called envelope stuffing are scams. Stay away from them! They will always ask for up front money and then be real mysterious with details. The thing about work at home jobs is that there aren't any that are any easier than ones you have to drive to. They are just as hard and require just as many skills.

Depending on your background, you could consider medical transcription, coding or billing. I was a medical transcriptionist working from home.

Many transcriptionists get their training through a course of study while others carry their medical terminology knowledge with them from other health related fields. The biggest problem with a home based job is exactly what it says it is a job, but is more likely to be low paid and with no certainty of continuous employment, with those uncertainties and the tax disadvantages I could never recommend a home based job.

If however you wish to create an income from home, then a home based business is ideal. The biggest advantages are working hours that you can set to suit yourself, the opportunity to leverage time through the efforts of others, and significant tax advantages.

There are hundreds of possible businesses, but a business requires some capital to start up so I would recommend looking for one that requires less than $500 to start, but remember it is your business and it will only be successful if you are prepared to put some amount of continuous effort into it. It will take some time to build and get an income flowing, so I would study all opportunities very closely and see if your choice has any bonus schemes which can act as cash flow as the main income stream grows.

With most businesses it will take 2-4 weeks before the first income may be received, but that is normal, in fact most home based jobs will only pay monthly.
