I spent a while trying to weed out the different survey sites and the different sites that pay you to try things without trying to scam you.
I put together a blog for my friends (I figure I'd share it since I wish someone had put this together for me) and I listed the sites that didn't require me to go through pages of ads and that actually pay out cash and not points or entries into a sweepstakes.
I'd say that realistically if you spend about 2-3 hours a day and complete the surveys and offers for about 5-10 sites or even just to refer your friends that are tight on money now and then, you can average about $150- $250 a week. If you want to check it out my blog its:

yes - start an information based website, providing free accurate info which is interesting then you will get a good flow of traffic and returning visitors. you can work any hours you want then!
you could easily set up a forum too for like mined people to chat on via your site - that way you can engage with your visitors more and it may well keep them coming back to your site week after week.
once the site starts to get established you could make money from things like google adwords, affiliate schemes such as http://www.affiliatewindow.com having classified adds on there where people sell their related stuff , you could sell things like books/e-books, equipment etc which you could ship easily to buyers.

I have been home for the past 13 years. In that time I had a child care business (successful but time consuming and it does tie you down)..
Whole sale items - I also imported the product and sold to people who couldn't buy in "bulk" and did home parties.
Very successful but very time consuming.
Don't hesitate to rule out parties or network marketing.
Especially if you live in an area where they may not have heard of the products - the health and wellness industry is a great avenue -

Hi, I know how you feel. You can try and get homework which is taking things in like stuffing envelopes or if you have typing experience do some work for a small business owner that needs a few letters etc. done. That will pay you for the work you have actually done. Not sure how they pay for this type of home work.
The other thing which you can consider is having your own business. Which means you get paid for your effort and time and it doesn't go in someone elses pocket at the end of the day.
To go into business does sound scary but it isn't really. I will say though you do need a little money to start you off before you start making profit, but this really doesen't take long to get your small investment back.
