Nascars a huge sport. I think you'd do a lot of business, personally I hate nascar so I wouldn't go but other people would probable love it. |

Success is more than a cool name and stuff on the walls, but it is a great start. spend more time with the menu, good food may get them in...great food will bring them back!!! Next is service- that's HUGE !!! Now think location...if they can't find you...duh. Be very care full with overhead,it does not take long to catch up with you. I think you do have a good idea, and if you can handle working very hard for 12-16 hrs. per day (for the first year or two) you will have a good chance at success. I wish you luck and success |

I might try it once to see what its like. I love BBQ, but I don't like Nascar. Still there are a lot of Nascar fan out there. Possibly add other types of racing into it to expand your demographic. And success will come down to originality, quality, and service. |

I'm not a legal expert, but I think it would be infringing upon the "Nascar-Petty" name by association, and would be a liability to you due to misrepresentation. You could still do the whole Nascar theme idea- but not use the name Petty in the name of the restaurant. Then when folks learn your name is actually Petty they will all say, "Wow that's cool!" |

Personally, I would not be interested in going to a restaurant that is geared to a Nascar theme. It would not be something that I would seek out, if someone brought me there it would be a different thing all together.
But considering how popular Nascar is these days I think it would do very well. Just remember to make sure you design a menu that is appealing to your target group for your customer base. Be ready for some very long hours and little to no time to yourself until you have established the business.
Restaurants I am sure you already know are one the hardest to open and keep open. Some many regulations for food safety! Which is a good thing.
Good Luck
It will do well. |

It really all depends on what area of the country you are in. If it is the south, then I think it would definitely work. Especially if it is in the proximity of a raceway, like TMS in Fort Worth, TX. |

I think it would be great, also a good idea would be to put like a racing arcade in , put a few arcade racing machines in there, put a few t.v.s and a few consoles like a xbox 360 with racing games, a ps2 with racing games. Have a mini store in there so people could by race car merchindise, I guarentee it would be a major hit. |

I think racing fans would love it. Racing is very "down home" type sport and many of the fans love to grill. |

Yeah! to attract customers of all ages, start a "Racing fans family day" and offer enticing prizes such as "Hot Wheels" believe me, not only kids like them. Good luck. |

That's like an awesome idea, you'll probably have the best restraunt in the town you live in. Nascar is an awesome theme that i don't think much people have done and the name is rockin. |

never mind the NASCAR stuff, how good is your food ?
How good is your waiter/waitress ?
How good are YOU in running a business ?
The NASCAR stuff alone will not make your business.
You must have something that attracts people, for a Restaurant it's the food and....????
Something else... NOT just a theme but a certain ambiance.
Good Luck. |

I'm not interested in NASCAR and my personal opinion is that most barbecued foods are absolutely disgusting. However, if you had some good chicken wings, and I heard about them, I might try them. It's also important to consider your area. Are there any other barbecue places in your area? Are they successful? Are there a significant number of NASCAR fans in your area? What is the class status of most of the residents of your area (People of upper-class status may be more likely to go to a fancy restaurant than to a barbecue)? Try conducting some simple polls in your area to see if there's any interest in that type of business. And if you decide to try it, then the best of luck to you. |

You may have a little problem with the name even though it is your name as well. A Bar-B-Q appeals to a limited crowd. If it is big in your area, go for it. Personally I may try it once. If the food isn't top-notch I would not go back as I can get run-of-the mill food anywhere. |

Just about anywhere you go BBQ is a good thing. As long as you have great food at affordable prices I am pretty sure Fans will come. Are you going to serve beer or alcohol? Just wondering. It seems some BBQ places go hand in hand with beer. Anyhow as long as the food is great, the service is great, and the place is clean you probably got a good ideal. God Bless. |

Depends on your demographic base and location. To begin with, not everyone likes BBQ, and not everyone likes NASCAR (I happen to appreciate both), but you need to find an area where both are highly revered. Just make sure that if you are in an area where BBQ is loved, that you have really good BBQ, because noone will eat there if it isn't any good. |

If it's good atmosphere, good food, and good service, people will come. |

Good name. You will be successful if your food is good. It's a clean place to dine, and you have 3 or 4 t.v's w/ race or speed channel going all the time. Don't forget the cold beer! |

With a few autographed glossies nicely placed among you other "collectables", you have a start. Good food and service are a must, and anything you can think of to make the experience more unique and enjoyable is icing on the cake. Location? It sounds like a winner. |

I think it sounds cool. I hope you live near either a tourist area or a race track because I think that is where you are going to make the most. Good Idea |

if you live in the south, yes. i'm a southern girl and we love our bar-b-q...haha. sounds good though. you should have a tasting outside of a store or something first to see if people will like the food. see what feedback you get. |
