That girl | Would you pay $140K for a proven successful franchise that would make you $40K a year working 25 hours a week? |
Additional Details Everybody want's to question this business. My question isn't about that. I just want to know (all things guaranteed) would it be worth it to pay that much? For a job you would love? No boss...

If it's proven why are you selling, lying or just preying to people's greed?
Hard to choose... |

That's a hard one because it'll take 4.5 years to pay for itself. What if I worked 40 hours a week?? |

the number of hours are not important in the valuation problem you are describing. i would pay $140k for a business with a gross annual income of about $140k, with margins around 50%. If the gross margin is worse than 0.50, then the purchase price should be adjusted down. if you don't understand, send me and email. |

ONLY IF I COULD WORK 40HOURS A WEEK AND ALMOST DOUBLE THAT TO 80K A YEAR. BUT IF NOT THEN NO I WOULDNT TOUCH THAT DEAL. UNLESS MAYBE YOU ARE SINGLE WITH NO FAMILY AND WANT TO HAVE TIME TO DO NOTHING. AND OFCOURSE IF YOU HAVE EXTRA MONEY. IF YOU DO ILL TAKE IT!! |

P.T.Barnum said it best 'there's a sucker born every minute'. There are very very few 'franchises' that can produce $40K yr on 25 hr/wks especially since YOU will be paying out $20 -$30 k yr in fees. DO your homework and have some one recheck your math. Oh the answer is NO.

The math doesn't add up. And that is with out any info on the operating costs. You didn't give much in the way of details.
For more information that might be beneficial take a look at my "Honest Opportunity" blog on my 360 page that highlights some things to take into account when you are looking at a business opportunity. |

No. I would not. I don't believe that anyone should have to pay that kind of money to start even a "successful franchise". You can start a successful business for far less of an investment.
I started my own home based business for under $200.00 and after two years am making over $50K and I work less than 20 hours per week. |

How many people paid the 140 and then didn't make the 40 by working 25 hours? |

I would have to have much more info than that to invest that kind of $. But I am intrigued? |

I don't think this type of franchise really exists. It sounds like a marketing scheme to me. I can't imagine that there is a real franchise that would only take 25 hours to make successful. Most businesses take way more than 40 hours a week to make it a success. |

Why would I pay 140K, to make only 40k, when I could invest $49.00 and make more than $40k, working the same amount of hours? |
|

What do you consider 'proven'? If it works for one in a hundred people, that's not real 'proven success.'
Second, that would take 3.5 years to get back my investment. More when you take inflation into account and not even counting the money I live off of in the meantime.
If it's been such a huge proven success and I have to go four years before even turning a profit, there's a rule of economics called diminishing marginal returns. Applied to this situation, it means the more people taking advantage of this offer, the less profit there is. Economic profits always move to equilibrium at zero. I highly doubt, working 25 hours a week, that my $40k per year revenue would sustain that level over four years.
If you believed yourself that it would, you would be in this business yourself instead of merely selling it. |
