so right now im working during the day and some evening but im pretty sure my mangers gunna ask me if I wanna work night audit on weekends. do u think its a good idea or not. one of the people who does the audit now says you get alot of weird people :S

ya its at a holiday inn. our cameras don't work so that doesnt make me feel very safe. we were robbed a couple nights ago by the lady w/ a rifle. and i'm 18 |

I did it for a large hotel in Dallas and enjoyed the fact that there were no bosses around. There was enough paper work to keep me busy most nights all thru the shift. Of course, this was a huge hotel that catered to celebrities and conventions, but even so, there is enough to do and it would look good on a resume'. Is the hotel in a well-lighted public area or off the road and dark? Might make a difference as to ur age also |

you get more money per hour at night that you get per hour diring day. It's less busy probably so it would be less work. |

I have worked at the Day's Inn at night. What I did (I had a really cool boss though) was put a small roll away cot in the small office by the door and turned the bell on. It wasn't so bad I got paid to sleep. |

You get weird people anywhere you work.
If the pay was good enough, I'd at least give it a try. You could always find a new job if you didn't like it. |

I would do it if you can get management to give you a three week try at it, and let you quit if this is not your bag :) It's only two nights a week, right? You will have drunk people, you will have jack a**es who say they paid and didn't ... who cares? You can just get a line figured out to tell them and go on with the evening. "I'm sorry sir, I do not have the authority to accommodate your request. Here is the manager's phone number and extension, you can phone them in the morning or on Monday to express your concerns and find a remedy for your problem." Personally, I would love to do the night audit at my local hotel !!! |

If u don't feel safe, then I would say don't work at night!!! I personally worked at the night shift once for like 2 months and I didn't like it, is pretty boring, I wouldn't do it again!!! |

Is it a "seedy" hotel? If it is, then I wouldn't recommend it. If it's reputable, then I guess you just have to go with your gut feelings. |
