It is one of those things tha isn'y your fault. If they had really wanted to get a higher price they would have put a reserve on it which only costs something like 50p, they didn't and you bid fairly ebays transactions are legally binding so well done you grabbed a bargin. Hope it was something good! |

take it for what tou got it for.. who knows what they got it for in the first place... ebay- you win, you loose- in the end- ur even |

you're right... but when you are selling things on eBay you supposed to be ready for everything. if he/she had a standard price for his/her item, he/she should sell it through gumtree or he/she could add a ''reserve not met'' on eBay to avoid disappointment.
so, go and buy what u won, give the pound but don't wait for your 1p back... |

chance you take on e-bay, he could have put a reserve on it |

I pay the 99p and feel delighted with the bargain. If the seller really wanted more money, he'd have put a reserve on it. You know the deal when you sell on Ebay. Don't feel bad - he won't be secretly hating you or anything. |

Surely if you start the bid at £5.00 then you would pay £5.00 and not 99p ??? Whatever you win the item at - thats the luck of the auction and thats why reserves are put there xx |

That is very considerate of you, have a Friend pick it up

your legal contract is to buy it at 0.99. if he had wanted more he should have put a higher start price, or a reserve on it. |

When you start an auction you know there are risks involved. You can also put in a minimun price that has to be bid before you put your item for auction. It was a fair auction, so there's no need to feel bad about it.
If you do feel that you want to pay more for it, sure go a head, nobody is stopping you. |

I would pay the 99p...if the seller didnt want the item to go for less he should have put a reserve on the item...therefore any bids made on the item will not win unless the reserve is met.
No reserve means you pay for the item at the price it was won.
Those are the rules and its only fair that you stick to them. |

E-bay is dog eat dog,I hate the site, full of money hungry idiots and even bigger idiots paying extortionate prices for things you can by anywhere else for half the price,,just look at Dr Who products,so to answer your question keep it and lol. |

I actually had a similar situation happen to my husband. We bidded on a racing collector set, won bid at like $20 or so when the gentleman was trying to get a lot more. We went to pick up the item and the man told us that he didn't care, he was just glad to get some money for something that he didn't need sitting in his garage. So don't worry about it, you don't know if the seller will be upset or not. It's not your fault that you were the first and only bidder. Definately take the bargin and run!!!
Have a great day |

Personally, I would take the bargain but your having a moral dilema over this so maybe offer him what you think is reasonable or consider to still be a bargain. Some sellers sell so many things that it will make little difference to them what you pay so check out the sellers history first. You have earned an awful lot of Karma points just thinking about this regardless of what you pay hehehe :o) |

The people on ebay are all money grabbers, they make enough from other sales. |

offer him a tenner, i know what you mean but really all you have to pay is the 99p |

Neither I'd be more worried that the thing isn't worth 99p. Why should you worry about a stranger not getting full price for what they are selling. He's probably a mean person who beats his wife and kids, leaving them to starve in the cellar. Auctions are a gamble the greedy git probably was sitting home rubbing his hands together in anticipation. If he had any sense he'd bid for it himself. |
