the airline person | how do i start a small airline bussiness? |
Well basically I dont want to start a british airways or anything like that!
I was thinking maybe lease a small around 50 seat plane and fly local routes or some sort of cargo until i can afford the plane or to expand the company. I would love to start this with someone who would be interested or know a niche in the market. I'm currently in the process of taking my PPL and after that will hopefully take my ATPL so if someone is interested we could maybe start something?
does anyone know what we have to do?

There is a huge gap between PPL and ATPL.
But the best way to make a small fortune in the airline business is start with a large fortune. |

Look at the market in your area and see if there is a demand for a one off operator. I would probably forget about cargo, too much competition. Some sort of charter service may be a better idea for business, however there will also be a huge amount of competition for that. It's also unlike that you would ever get financing to lease a plane as a start up operator in the current economic climate.
You would probably be better off looking for a job as a pilot for a similar operation to begin with so you can learn how this sort of business works first. |
