you are allowed to go back 3 years...just file them, you may need to use an amended form. and if he does owe in, he'll have penalties from not paying. |

If it is a low wage job, I would just deal directly with the state. If he is a person of means, I would contact a CPA and have the CPA help him sort it out and negotiate something favorable with the state. Be sure to use a local CPA who knows those laws rather than one from out of state. |

File the return and pay the penalty, if any or demand the refund. Most states have old tax returns on line, if not a CPA or library will have them. |

He will probably need to contact a CPA and/or a lawyer to make sure he covers all the legal channels appropriately for the state he lives in. If he doesn't do it properly he can be charged with tax evasion. |

Have him file the return. If he doesn't owe, he should be ok. If he owes, they will be on him like flies on sh**. If he doesn't file and gets caught, they attach HUGE penalties on it. My husband didn't file for the 8 years prior to us getting together and boy, did he take a hit. I wouldn't marry him until we had the bills paid, otherwise, as his wife, they could take my stuff too. |
