It is not a tax return, it is a tax rebate...
It will be a different check from your return...
It goes by income. and the rebates will be $300-$600 for single and up to $1200 for couples and then an additional $300 per child up to $1200...
It was passed but they are still ironing out the details. and Bush is expected to sign it into law on the 15th of February.
checks should start arriving May or June.. |

Congress is discussing a plan like this. But it isn't every person, just those earning income over $3000 a year, under the "plan" currently under discussion, and could be as low as $300 not necessarily $600. But until it's passed, anything can change. |

Who Will Get Tax Rebated Checks?
Tax rebate checks will be sent only to persons with Social Security numbers who paid federal income tax in 2007. In general, if you earned income in 2007 and pay taxes on it, you will qualify for a rebate check.
The bill currently excludes retired citizens living mainly on Social Security unless they report at least $3,000 in earned income for 2007, or pay taxes on non-Social Security income. Some Senators have indicated they will try to change this, but President Bush is pressing Congress to pass the bill without adding any additional spending.
How Much Will You Get?
As the bill stands now, individual taxpayers would get a checks for up to $600. Married couples would get up to $1,200, plus $300 per dependent child. All of the rebate amounts would gradually be reduced for individuals with adjusted gross incomes over $75,000 and couples reporting over $150,000 in adjusted gross income.
Under the advance tax payment rebate plan in 2001, outstanding debts owed to the government, such as back taxes, delinquent federal student loans or child support payments were deducted from the rebate checks. Do not be surprised if a similar deduction is applied to this round of rebate checks.
Remember, until both the House and Senate pass the economic stimulus bill, and it is signed by President Bush, all of the details on the 2008 tax rebate checks are subject to change.
Election year......yahoo....I saw it in the news......but must agree...what is the check in the mail? I wouldn't count on nothing till you see it! |

It's NOT the law of the land yet. Don't hold your breath, either. If it does pass it may take days or weeks to make it through Congress.
Until it actually passes and is signed into law it's just guesswork, no more and no less. |

the bill has not been passed yet, i believe the democrats are trying to add some things about unemployment and other related issues to it. so it is stuck in congress. but, you only get the $600 if you make a certain amount of income each year.
people who don't pay taxes get $300 and people that make up to i think 75,000 get $600. Married couples also get $300 per child.
so we will see if it passes. |

About 117 million individuals and families will get just that under a tax rebate program announced Thursday afternoon. Most people will get $600 to $1,200, although some will get more and some will get only $300.
President Bush and House leaders agreed on a plan to put $150 billion into people's hands to try to feed the equivalent of an energy bar to the ailing economy.
The Senate is in a bind over whether to try to add to the measure.
Few public developments were expected today as lawmakers digest the hard-won agreement between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Republican leader John Boehner and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson that is designed to stave off the first recession since 2001.
The Senate very often wins its battles with the House.
But now, with the power of the Bush administration behind them, House leaders are optimistic that their simply drawn measure -- providing rebate checks to 117 million families and $50 billion in incentives for businesses to invest in new plants and equipment -- would prevent the Senate from making significant changes such as extending unemployment benefits.
This would be the third time that rebate-like emergency checks have been issued under Bush. In 2003, advance credits of $400 per child were paid. In 2001, individuals got up to $300 and couples got up to $600 in tax "prebates," which were given against the following year's tax return. Before that, tax rebates were last issued in 1975.
Leaders agreed only on the basics of the plan Thursday. Many details need to be worked out. Here's what it means to you:
Q: How much will people get?
A: Most individuals will get up to $600; couples will get up to $1,200. People will get an additional $300 for each dependent child.
Q: You said most. Who is eligible?
A: To get the maximum $600 or $1,200 payment, people must have paid federal income taxes in 2007 and had earned income of at least $3,000 |

The only people that are getting tax returns are the people who make more than $3,000 a year but make less than $75,000 a year. The people who fall into that category will get $300 - $1,200 depending on their annual salary.

It's called the tax/rent rebate form. I live in pa. so hear its spacificly known as pa-1000 pensylvania property tax and rent rebate program. they dramaticly increased the income guidlines which make far more people elegable. You will need to find one of these forms and fill it out then you will have a long wait, its about 2-6 months before you get the check. Its worth the wait tho. You have that M*th*r-F*cK'r bush to thank for the econimy being hurt so bad as well as those G>D> arab F*ck'rs. |
