OK, so you are like me, putting it off to the last minute. So, do as I did, consult a professional. I went on this past Monday, and he told me what papers I needed and today, I went back with my papers and he filled out the forms and such. It cost a few bucks, but there you are. I hold Congress responsible for writing the tax codes to make them so hard to understand that I have to hire someone to fill out my taxes for me. Just as I hold Congress to account for changing daylight saving time so my VCR's no longer can automatically change the clock, and for next year when they make all of my analog TV's stop working and force me to buy a converter to receive HDTV. Who benefits from dumping analog TV in favor of HDTV anyway? Certainly it isn't US, the consumers! |

The deadline is April 15th, 11:59 pm. If you file electronically, remember, if IRS's computer system will be down at the time (it happens), you will miss your deadline. If you mail your return, the deadline is the closing hour of your local post-office on April 15th. |

You answered your own question. You still have 4 days, so it's not too late. I haven't done mine either. I'm going to try and get over to H&R Block on Saturday. |

You can also use Form 4868 to receive an extension to time to make your income tax filing. You have to pay an estimate of the taxes due when you send in that form (by 4/15/2008, naturally). |
