I got the same thing this morning, that my deposit was depsited on 1-23-09, even though SBBT says that it will be deposited on 1-30-09. I applied for a RAL and was DENIED after receiving it for THE LAST 10 YEARS. I could have did my own taxes for FREE. I WILL NEVER FILE FOR A RAL EVER AGAIN AND EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD DO THE SAME. YOU CAN DO YOUR OWN TAXES FOR FREE AND GET A 2 WEEK DEPOSIT @ IRS.GOV. I will be calling SBBT EARLY this morning. |

I got that as well. ohno! I called the # for offests it said nothing I had my fees taken out as well. And taxact uses republic bank. If they did deposit it I will never use taxact again I mean I had the fees taken it but not to recieve my refund for this long it is BS! They have my money and haven't updated their website since jan 19th |

Thank goodness it wasn't just us then. When I filed it said we should get a deposit on jan 30th, checked the site 48 hrs later said Feb 3rd, checked it today and said Feb 10th. I wonder what the heck is going on! 5 Min ago it said it didnt have any info on my refund. |

Ive gotten the same thing. Mine was changed this am to the 1/28 date. It really has nothing to do with the RAL or the tax service you used. It is the IRS. Personally I just cant understand why people use RAL unless you just cant afford to pay the fee for efile. (which is free if you qualify).
If you used a RAL please keep in mind what happened last year to many many people. When we were sent stimulus checks people who used RAL had no place for them to be deposited. The account is opened in your name and then closed when you get your refund. Hence that stimulus check had no where to go. It delayed alot of checks being sent out. Hopefully if we do get another check which I doubt, they have taken this into account. Just a heads up! |

Me too. Filed on the 16th, accepted on the 18th. First thing they say is I will have my refund by Jan 26. Next update on the IRS website says Jan 30. Then it went to Feb 3. Today it shows DD made on Jan 23 and to call my bank if it's not there. My bank said they can investigate it if the IRS will give them a tracer on the money. But we got the complete runaround on the IRS hotline-no good info, they basically just repeated what their website said and act like it's my bank's fault.
I wasn't really expecting it until Feb 3rd and since everyone else is having the same problem, I feel a little better since I know it's not just me. So we'll wait and see =) My bank gives me access to any deposit even before it's been approved or any money been transferred, so I will let you know as soon as I see that $$ in my account. |

This is crazy, and here I thought I was the only one going through this... I e-filed on the 16th, and the IRS website reported that I should receive my refund by the 3rd of February. I checked this morning and the website reported that my refund had been deposit on the 23rd, and if I didn't receive it by the 28th, then I should contact my bank. I called my bank BB&T, and the Customer Service Rep (CSR) told me it didn't come through. The Bank only accepts deposits through the ACH, and that I needed to contact the IRS. So, I called the IRS and the first CSR I spoke with couldn't tell me anything and kept apologizing. Finally, he gave up on me and hung up. I kept asking why if the website, and automated refund hotline service reported it was refunded he could tell me anything. Again, I called the IRS and spoke to a different CSR. This time I used a different approach and told the CSR that a lot of people were supposed to received thier refund on the 23rd, and haven't. I also asked if there was something wrong with the system, the CSR said "no," I also asked if it had anything to do with the stimulus checks, the CRS said "no." Finally, I asked if I was the only with this issue, and if anyone else had the same complaint. The CSR said "this is the first I hear of this." The last thing the CSR told me was that is could take up two three weeks for them to process the taxes, which was totally different then what the 1st CSR said, and he said it would be sent to my bank on the 6th.WHAT IS GOING ON?
***UPDATE***
I checked the Where's My Refund again, via website, and now it's reporting there is no information on my refund. I'm just going to wait until 3rd before I start freaking out. However, I might have to wait until the 6th. |

same deal says "direct deposited on 23rd" I filed on 19th previous was dd was on or around feb. 3 tried calling long wait times no answer -ain't that a *****? |

I also show that my refund was transmitted 1/23/09 and the IRS automated phone service confirmed that date. My bank shows nothing and knows nothing...my anticipated date has been 2/3/09 all along. If there's a system glitch it's both website and tele service. Has anyone actually received their refund yet? |

I filed my taxes on 1/16 thru the HR Block site. As of 1/17 it was accepted by the IRS and until yesterday the status was that I would get my refund by 2/3/09.
I checked this morning and got the same message you are all getting. It's not showing up on my account. So I called the IRS...spent an hour on hold. Finally got someone who told me It takes 3 weeks. As it seemed she was not understanding me I asked for a Supervisor. She came back on the phone and said the Sup is on a meeting but she did find out that they are having computer issues. I managed to have a Chat with their Technical help desk and they were not aware of any issues as I was previously told. One of my coworkers filed the same day I did and he got his refund today. He uses the same bank I use. I think there is something definetily wrong. So If anyone needs their money as much as I do.....you should start trying to give them hell so they fix it. I will keep checking for updates. And let you guys know if I hear from them...they said they would call me back. We'll see. |

I got the same status update this morning! It says that my deposit was made on the 23rd and to expect it today, but it's not in my account. Called the bank, and they don't see it there either in their upcoming deposits for the day.
Glad to know I am not the only one going through this weirdness! |

Your tax returns will be deposited on the appropriate date according to the IRS's document laying out the guidelines. The IRS has made no refunds as of yet. The first date for a round of deposits is on 1/30/09.
I re-checked the WMR (Where's my refund) link today and it is now updated to show a dep will be made on 1/30/09. Earlier it said it was dep on 1/23/09.

i got same thing , i think they only do direct dep on fridays, so thats when we will get it i bet. they are all messed up this year, i was suppose to get my state deposited on monday and i never got in then in yesterdays mail a paper check pops up, they dont no what they are are doing !!!!!! |

Well i filed mine on the 20th and was told by turbo tax to it would be deposited on the 30th. When i checked irs site yesterday, it said to expect it by feb 3rd. Now today it says Feb 10th. I don't get it! |

Same thing happened to me this morning. I do WMR and it said that it had been deposited on the 23rd and I checked my account and didn't see it. I called the bank and they had no idea what I was talking about since nothing was showing up there. That was at 10 this morning, I just checked the website again and it says that they will be depositing it on the 30th.
I filed on the 11th so I am hoping it comes on Friday. |

I got the same message. However, I didn't e-file my taxes until Jan 22nd. According to the irs efile calendar, my refund should not be deposited until the 30th. I am thinking that this is an irs error. I don't see how the irs can deposit my refund the day after I filed my taxes. I would check what date you filed your taxes and then check the irs refund calendar here:

***Update***
Filed and accepted on January 16th through Tax Brain and accepted by the IRS on January 17th. Requested the 2 week rapid refund and paid for it, and expected date from SBBT was January 30th. Checked irs.gov three days ago and it said that expected refund would be February 6th. Checked yesterday as well as today and now it says February 10th.
After endless answer searching online I still could not find a plausible answer. So I decided to go through the expected nightmare of contacting the IRS by phone and speaking with a machine...errrr...robot.....errr some form of life that speaks. After a 20 minute wait my call was answered. I was not told anything about a glitch or error. What I was told was that I would NOT be receiving my refund tomorrow. I was told that the IRS had to make a minor correction to my return and that is what caused the delay. He could not tell me what the correction was(the system does not tell him), only that it was minor therefore the IRS did not need to contact me to make the correction. Prefaced by "its not set in stone", he said I should receive my refund on February 10. I went on to ask what could have been possibly corrected seeing as I used the same certified website which uses software to calculate the return for the previous 8 years and I have never had this problem. Again, he did not have an answer. He concluded with the IRS company line of "check the website next week and you should see new updates".
The only correction I think that might have needed to be done was the correcting the control number on my W-2, as I filed off of my last paycheck. Since filing I have received my W-2 and everything but the control number was entered correctly. Soooooo.....I guess cynical as I am I still don't have an answer I can trust and honestly that sucks. I guess all we can do is keep FIGHTING THE POWER!
