They'll return it for you to sign. This happened to my boyfriend this year. You won't have any problems. Sending another copy will just muck up their system and you definitely don't want to do that the the tax people!

You could. They'll send the first one back.

An unsigned return is no return. The IRS will return it to you for your signature.
You can go ahead and send a complete, signed return right now and just toss the old one when it comes back. Don't forget to attach copies of your W-2s and all other schedules and attachments if you do that, though. This won't muck up their system since they won't enter it into the system at all if it's not signed.
Ms. Angel..
DON'T SEND ANOTHER COPY. IRS will send you a LTR 0012C requesting you to sign and return back to them. Sending another copy will only duplicate the original return you mail in. When IRS receives you original they will then have a file where to hold return waiting for signature once signature is received will send to have the refund issued.

Dont worry they will mail you back and let you know the problem. They will attach and request your 1040..

I think i did that a few years ago, and I think they returned it to me for signature.

It is better you telephone them to explain. Then request to sent another.
