If you were claimed as a dependent by some one else you will not receive the rebate. |

No, dependents aren't eligible. |

Dependents do not get the stimulus check. |

If you were claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return then you are not eligible for a stimulus payment.

Unless you were a full time student (at least 5 months) AND she provided more than half of your support (did she give you $19,000?), it was illegal for her to claim you as a dependent. She will get your stimulus check (unless they catch her and stop everything for an audit).
You are over age 19, so if you were not a student, you were no longer a qualifying child. And since you made more than $3400, you are not a qualifying relative either.
If she had NOT claimed you as a dependent you would have had lower taxes (more refund) and the stimulus check. |

For your mom to claim you:
You must have lived with her for more than half of the year and you did not provide more than half of your support.
With your income of $19,000 it will be difficult for your mom to prove that she provided more than half of your support.
If you are dependent, you will not get rebate.
For more information on the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html |

I'm sort of like the other guy something is not right here. Do you smoke and if so what brand(figuratively speaking)? Our son filed his own taxes and we d d not claim him he is 18 BTW, he got back all that he paid in so he rates the stim thing. he go go through it like water through a funnel and has no job now not even looking, gets a SSI check once a month because of my disability can you say a mooch? Now he did not make near what you did was told that if they make over a certain amount they file their own and we are not to claim them. that would be a double whammy thing. The Government is not real happy with those that do that. |

Something not right here. You filed your own tax return and your mom claimed you as a dependent. |

Yes you will get a check it should come in your name , but you need to check your mail often to see if it doesn't come in your mom's name instead.........
A good thing to do with your check is to invest it
or save it for a rainy day .........good luck with your choice . |
