If you file electronically and have direct deposit, you will have your money in 8-15 days.

There are millions of people who do an advance loan on their refund. Millions do cash advances on their credit cards or paystubs. It isn't foolish, just an option.

Makes sense for some people, not for others.

LittleMissPrissy
Acutally you are not, plenty of people file rapid but I have noticed that while i file rapid with an agency and pay 200 bucks to get mines back quicker those that I know who do not file rapid get there's back just a couple days after I do.

If you don't mind paying someone an exhorbitant interest rate for a short term loan, go ahead.
I have better things to do with my money than to GIVE it away so I can squander my return in a hurry.

Because I don't want to pay the "rapid refund" people any money to get MY money !

I have a better use for that $100.00 fee they charge. I'd rather wait four to six weeks for my check.AND, I let the IRS do it for me for free every year.(Internal Revenue Taxpayer Assistance office)

Rapid refund is aimed at the lower income population who wants their refund money NOW instead of Later. Unfortunately, those "rapid refunds" are really loans with high rates.

It's better to file a return electronically with direct deposit then wait patiently for the refund.

Generally, a direct deposit refund takes about 2-6 weeks while some states issues direct deposit refunds within 1-2 weeks. If you choose to get a paper check refund, then you might as well wait longer!

The sad part is that the people most likely to use rapid refund is the people who can least afford it.

?
I e-file and wait the two weeks but I know plenty of people who rapid refund so you aren't alone.
