Another stimulus question?
I am confused about how much my family will get back, and my husbands ss# is in the 50's so I can't see it yet on the websight, but I wondered if anyone could give me insight as to what I should get. My husband made approx $30,000 last year, I am an unemployed stay at home mom, and we have 2 children. I am confused as to whether I will get anything being unemployed, since we did file married jointly. Thanks in advance for your input!

*If* you filed jointly, the calculation of the stimulus rebate does NOT depend on both of you working.

However, $30K of income isn't enough to have paid $601 to $1200 in actual tax, so you and your husband only qualified for the minimum of $300 for each of you and $300 for the children under age 17. The amount can only go up to (see that "up to"???) $600 each if you had actually paid income tax of least that amount.

i am also a stay at home mom my husband works full time. as long as you filed a joint return it doesnt matter that you dont work out side of the home. you will still get a portion of it.

Since you filed a joint return, the payment will be calculated for both of you, it doesn't matter who actually got the paychecks.

Since you had the four of you, and income around $30,000, you most likely didn't have any tax liability for 2007. So you'd get $600 total for you and your husband, plus another $300 for each dependent child under age 17.

You will all get $300 each.

The rebate payment will equal the amount of tax liability on the return (tax liability on the return Form 1040 line 46 or Form 1040A line 28) with a minimum amount of $300 and a maximum amount of $600 for individuals.

For information on stimulus tax rebate schedule, the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html

If you filed jointly, one check will come to both of you. The amount depends on the lax liability that was on your joint 2007 tax return.

If you filed jointly, then you will get the $1,200 plus $300 per child -- $1,800 in your case. Your employment status does not affect the amount.

However, the income might make it lower. Check the IRS' web site for their calculator.

go to irs.gov and go to the caculator and it will tell u how much
