The Nerd | Anyone able to explain lack of "stimulus payment"? Is this even surprising? |
I got my tax return direct deposited way back at the beginning of March. My SS# ends in 13. The schedule says I should get it in the same bank account I received my refund, by today. I just looked - no payment.
So I tried their "Where's my stimulus payment?" tool online, and (big surprise) they didn't have my info on file. I know they have my info somewhere, because the "Where's my tax return?" tool was accurate.
Is this a common occurance? Does anyone know of a problem at the IRS, preventing this from running smoothly? Frankly, is anyone even surprised?
Additional Details
The IRS website clearly shows my tax record as being "direct deposit".
Also, I did my taxes myself online, with Tax Act (.com). |

I don't know anyone who has successfully been able to use the "Where's My Stimulus Payment" link...
As for the rebate being late...another poster says she called the IRS and they told her they are running behind by 7 days now. I don't know how true that is.
If you want to speak to a real person at the IRS call 800-829-1040 and press 7 for rebates. |

We did direct deposit too and are expecting our direct deposit between today and next Friday. Have not received the notice of how much we will received. And I use also the irs about where is my stimulus and there is no record. SO, I guess they were ahead and now seems that they are behind. The Irs should have never said anything and left it alone and stick to the original dates. |

If you do your taxes through a tax preparer, it is the tax preparers bank that deposits the money into your account. So the people that use this service will be getting paper checks. |

IF THE FUNDS WAS DEPOSITED TODAY THEN YOU MAY NOT SEE IT BEC OF WHEN YOUR BANK ACTUALLY DO THIER PROCESSING. IF THIS IS THE CASE YOU WONT SEE IT TODAY BUT MONDAY WILL ACTUALLY BE THE DAY YOU CAN SEE IT. SO TO BE MORE ACCURATE CALL YOUR BANK AND ASK THEM IF YOU HAVE A PENDING DD |

Are you sure you will be getting direct deposit? A lot of people think they are, but in reality their tax preparer, not the IRS, did the deposit of their refund into their account, and they'll get a paper check. Are you sure you aren't one of those? |

I am in the same situation, mine ends in 13. I did mine at HRBlock and they took the fees from the refund amount. So am I getting a paper check or direct deposit? |

They are not perfect, just like you. There could be a number of reasons for the check to not be in your bank. Maybe Obama got them stopped in favor of more money to others that he favors, and none to others that should have their fair share. |

the "wheres my payment" works for me, i am getting it may 5th, my last two are 67. but i did call the irs for my mom, because hers doesnt show up, and the lady knew about as much as my 2 year old, so i got transferred to another lady, and she said, if my mom didnt receive hers by may 16th, to call back and if nothing is resolved she can claim it as a credit on her 2008 income tax return, and her last two are 29, she also said there alot of bugs to be worked out and there SHOULD be a press release from the irs sometime with in a week or two. by this time i got a little irate and she hung up |
