Cyclops | Anyone tried to get Child Tax Credits ? |
I have been trying for days to get through to Child tax Credit line, anyone would think you could request a form on line, but no joy , and every time I try the phone link, I get told try later, and then I get cut off. I don't mind holding even if it takes an hour, does anyone know whats going on ?

I don't need to renew anything.I have a three month old daughter and I need to make a brand new claim. All I want is a claim form, I can even fill it in myself. LOL !! |

Things have been mad busy and ultra manic really for the past few weeks at the Tax Credit office ( i work there) with us trying to get as many people as possible renewed in time for the cut off!!!
If you didn't get through today, your tax credits will stop and anything you have been paid from April will be classed as "overpaid" and due to be repaid. If you send in your annual review form within 30 days of the 1 August 2007 it will automatically be sorted without you having to go through the lengthy procedure of having to write in to disagree with the overpayment.
Alternatively, if anyone wants to email me their telephone number and Nino, i'll give 'em a call and try to call them tomorrow!!!

everyones probably trying to phone through with their tax renewal information. You used to be able to apply on line but i think they have taken it off because i just tried to find the link for you. Keep trying! |

They stopped the internet form because of fraud some time ago . You can no longer collect a form from DWP or Hmrc again due to fraud. You can fast track a form if you and your partner are on benefits through DWP or i'm afraid you have to keep trying. They will backdate up to three months though. |

It's because the deadline for the annual reviews was today, so they've probably been inundated with calls about that. I got through today but it did take a while. |

They are really busy at the moment as deadline is here. The reason you cannot request anything on line is because of security. You used to be able to fill in your claim form on line but there were some security issues with it so they stopped it. Just keep trying, i know it is a pain i have been in you shoes only wanting to get a form to claim. I found it easier in the evenings to phone as everyone tries first thing in the morning. Hope this helps and i hope you get your form through. |
