An unequivocal yes. I wouldn't mind so much if I could see results for the higher taxes I am paying since Labour came to power, but in virtually every area results have worsened. We have people pulling their teeth out because they cannot find an NHS dentist, we have people dying on hospital wards whilst Chief Execs get £150,000 salaries and six figure pay-offs simply for moving jobs, children leaving school without any qualifications and the ability to read and/or write properly, a quarter of all schools failing, billions being wasted on a illegal war sold to us on Labour lies, billions being wasted on unelected and unaccountable quangoes, et al, ad infinitum.
Bloody sick of Labour! They really haven't got a clue... |

Yes and the government wonders why the crime figures are also high these two statistics go hand in hand. They are out pricing the common man in his own country unfortunately !! |

Yes they are way to high, this country spends to much money on un-important things and we're the mugs that pay for it. |

Another good question, depends how you look at it, on the one hand a lot of the tax we pay is wasted and on the other it creates the society we live in today, and if the majority of the people are happy with this situation, then who am I to complain.
Imagine if all the tax we pay were spent sensibly accounted for, would our society is better, I personally think so.
That old saying, a fool and his money are soon parted, I wonder if this applies to the majority of people. |

NO. People expect European levels of social benefit ( Health-care, social security, retirement etc. ) but also demand American style low taxation. As a result we get neither.
Our government has always done things on the cheap right back through recent history. It was the case when Elizabeth 1st. was keeping out the Spanish and has continued to the present day. |

'Too high'? Thats a relative comparison, so hard to say.
Do I feel I get value for money from the Taxes I pay? Hell no. Too much is wasted on white elephants like The Dome, and national ID cards. |

Yes, and unfortunately wages are not going up in relation to these tax increase ,as a result of higher interest rates and more and more taxes, more and more people can not afford to keep their homes ,and this is like a vicious circle and until someone said enough is enough it will carry on and on. Specially, now, Mr. Gordan Brown, Tax king, is the prime minister, God help us! |

No. They are far too low. We've had 30 years of government on the cheap and we've got cheapskate services as a result.
Most tax goes on the NHS, and they still have to ration care and forget about hygiene. If you want cheaper taxes, you'll have to decide who you're going to kill. Every penny of income tax means you close 20 hospitals. If you want a health service like the one in France (no waiting, adequate staff and no hospital-based infections) you'll have to pay tax like they do in France. |
