Yes, you can apply for Jobseekers allowance so long as you didn't quit your last job, if you did you will have to wait upto 6 months before you can claim especially now with so many people needing to claim due to redundancy.
You can claim housing and council tax benefit if you rent from a private landlord or form the council but can't claim if you live at home to pay your parents board.
You wil be entitled to free prescriptions and dental treatment IF you receive JSA. Thats about it! |

yes, but with the strain on the country at the moment i dare say it will become harder to claim these benefits in months to come.
you can get job seekers, or income support, depends on your circumstance |

jobseekers allowance paid fortnightly....but you have to keep up showing evidence that you are looking for work and attend all appointments and sign on every fortnight. Otherwise they could stop your payments. So a headache really having to dash there and they will come on the phone for you if you are supposed to be at the jobcentre so youve got to be on the ball about any appointments you have. If you are on for more than a year they refer you on to a new deal where you train for some skill or do voluntary work , get busfairs paid and stuff so theres a lot of help available. |
