Maybe this will be the catalyst to get people to revolt. |

No, and I'm not ready for that part time job I'm going to have to take to afford gas prices, either! |
|

just me!
|
I wouldn't say that I am ready for it but I did get rid of my gas guzzling jeep and got a new more gas efficient car. |

If anyone is smart, you take that 401 k you got going and invest in oil, that is how you make money for what you spend on gas, kind of like paying yourself. 401k's are a waste and from seeing how companies fold overnight, you would be stupid to believe they will be honored when it happens, look at Enron, what happened to all it's 401k. I invest in Walmart,Cotsco, etc. because I shop there,it's like paying myself back and you can by insurance on long term shares. And don't cry"I have no money", you do, you just blow what little you could store in a savings account every week instead of hitting the bar, wasting on a pair of jeans you don't need yet, that extra perfume when you have six at home. When you do it little by little you can easily buy 1 barrell of oil a month stock option with free trade or 1 stock of walmart or wherever you shop, and at first you may not see any real money coming in but it will. I have stock I bought from at&t 7 years ago, 2 shares, I never touched it and when they would send me my check every month I would send it back and signed that any profits from my share were to buy more of the same stock. Now I went from 7 years ago collecting 32 cents on 2 shares to owning 400 shares and collecting 88.00 a share which I still diversify into Oil, which brings me over a hundred dollars a barrell each share. You were warned in the bible that the next huge value was the "black gold", if you did not read it,then you have no one to blame but yourself. |

Yes raise the tax as much as possible but cut the price in half i would rather it go to the treasury than to corporate profits and go out of the country |

I haven't heard about this. I doubt that the government could allow something like that when we are already paying too darn much!!! |

Well...we're 9 trillion plus in debt (and counting)-IF the jack***** in office still want more money for their phony war--guess WHAT?-Oil is gonna increase in value--a no brainer! Why are we so stupid and bending over and taking from these corparate pirates? I guess the dumbing down of America increases every day! |

That would raise gas up to over $5 a gallon in my area. The prices are rediculous already. |

Heck no.... I can hardly afford to fill my tank now as it is. I try to keep it from going below 1/2 a tank so it's $50 to top it off. I have an alternative plan....I live near Amish people, so I'm going to see if they'll rent me a horse & buggy on a monthly basis. LOL Nobody seems to believe what you are saying, but it's been all over the news, supposedly by Summer gas is supposed to be $4 a gal. It's like a coin toss, one week gas the next week food. Ahhh life is good! |

I hope you are wrong. And I'd guess you are - how would you like to be a congressman trying to get re-elected after voting for that? |

No, but what chose do we have. |

my brain hurts

Yup, we're moving to a town with a centralized population, and we're getting our bikes and our walking shoes ready.
As for heating the house though, that'll be another story. :( |

I already ride my bike to work and most errands. I can't think of driving when riding my bike is so much more enjoyable. |

Geez, NO!!! Am I gonna have to start turning tricks to pay for gas???? Honk when you pass me on the street corner! |

The fact of the matter is we do not really have a choice. I spend more on gas than any other single expense each month. I very rarely go any where but to work. Gas money comes from food money and other things. If the retailers want to know why people didn't shop this year all they have to do is look at gas prices. When it is too expensive to work then I will collect welfare and get back some of the taxes Ive paid on the gas!!!LOL |

This wouldn't surprise me at all. I am sick of the high gas prices. Wouldn't it be nice if we could use the ocean water for fuel? Or the air |
|

Rick B
|
Why do you think that? With prices through the roof, I can't imagine the fed would start adding gas taxes on.
Is there any basis for your statement? |
|

Actually USA gasoline taxes are very low compared to similar countries. |
|

why?
And I can't drive anymore because of a medical problem. |

What good would it be to have a job then if all you can buy is gas to get to and from work? We are already spending a fortune on gas as it is. We have gone from being able to have steak once in a while to spaghetti, hot dogs and bologna sandwhiches. |

It is not gonna happen. It is more like a 2 or 3 dollar increase.
No. Are you? |

Finally. I can afford it, and maybe this will cut down on the traffic during my commute to work. |

never happen. |

It probably won't happen unless a Democrat is voted in. We can all help to prevent it at the voting place. |
