As you have done an agreement i doubt that they will come back. However, i don't think that he has acted properly. Some of them can be extremely agressive and intimidating. Don't be intimidated. See them to a certain degree as a wall that you will have to get over in order to deal with the problem. First of all, speak to the council. Ask them to take the debt back from the bailiffs. If they won't, speak to a financial advisor at the CAB. If they will, then agree to pay back the amount at rate that you can afford. When the bailiff attended he should have made a list of goods in the property if you let him in. Certainly in the future know never to let a bailiff in.. once they have gained access once they can break into your property to remove goods for things like council tax. Phone the office that they are working for and explain that you were pressured into agreeing to the 30 quid each month and that you cannot afford this amount, and then offer what you are able to pay. Support your case with a break down of your finances and if necessary show them bills. But don't let anyone come into your home.. go to their offices. It is a scary time but when you have an agreement that you can afford stick to itand then you will sort all of this out and you can put it behind you. I truly wish you the best of luck.. its horrible but there is a brighter side in sight xx |

the others are right, go to C.A.B. as soon as, and remember in future, never ever let a baliff like that into your home, thy cannot take anything from you if they don't make their 'list', and if you do not let them in the first time they call they are not allowed entry after that.. unfortunately once you let them in once, they have the right of entry again. Most baliff's pressure people with either empty threats meant to frighten you, or they act like they are your best friend trying to do you a favour. I'm sorry you have this problem now, but go to CAB they are marvellous and not predjudice |

The council tax is the most abhorrent burden on the human race, and the bailiffs are the most degenerate of all because every time they call, your debt will have increased dramatically, as these parasites live the good life out of administrating deep distress. talk to your council without fail, and state your case asking that with extended payment you may be able to comply, if you do not they will remove valuable items from your home with impunity and have them auctioned a ridicules figure making you pay for the time involved at the auction |

Possibly... Talk to the council ... You might have to settle for £10 each a fortnight,, You will have to afford it... Cut food right down ... just stay alive without any treats ,No going out at all.. No pubs, clubs, meals out, cinema etc,,, you can't afford them... Unless you make theses sort of sacrifices you are never going to get straight..... |

Go to the council, immediately, and offer whatever you can possibly afford! As long as you can be seen to be making an effort to make these payments, they will be fairly lenient with you, and you should be able to come to some sort of compromise. You could also try Citizens Advice, but whatever you do, DONT ignore it. |

if you let them come into your house the next time they come they can enter legally and take your goods to pay what you owe, Don't let them in at all if you haven't already.BEWARE. |

Firstly NEVER let a Bailiff in. Now that the council has passed the debt to the bailiff they have to collect it, so any arrangements to clear the debt has to be made with them. You must speak to the bailiff to see if they will reduce the amount. Prepare an income and expenditure sheet before you contact them so you can give them the right information and hopefully they will agree. Unfortunately the bailiff will add his costs to the debt, so you need to keep them sweet. If you are in financial strife go to the CAB they are a mine of information. Are you entitled to Housing/Council Tax Benefits? Are you on Jobseekers? Are you studying, if so is it full time? Do you have a child? The CAB will help you figure this out, and can even advise how to proceed for the future bills depending on your curcumstances. Good luck. |

If you let him in chances are he has made a list of your items that he will take if you don't pay, he can and will break into your property to do this as he now has legal entitlement to those things. Try talking to the bailiff company first to say you can't afford it. If you get nowhere with them get down to the CAB and fast, in the meantime keep up the payments even if you have to beg and borrow. Good luck x |

Go and talk to someone at Citizens Advice Bureau asap. |

The best thing to do is go to the Citizens Advice Bureau. They will advise you as to how to stop the bailiffs coming to your home and will help you set up a repayment programme that you can afford. They will also be able to give you advice about sorting your finances out in general. |
