Ring the tax office and they will hurry it up if you explain. Good Luck!

Firstly check with your employers that they have registered you with the tax office. Secondly make an appointment with the tax office, take in all you wages slips and ask them when they will be giving you the proper tax code. The only way you can think of it is when you get your tax rebate it will be a nice amount to have all at one time. Good luck to you.

it should get sorted; however do question it. you can call your local inland revenue i have done this and it is quite straightforward.

ive had on average about 2 tax refunds every year since i left school in 93

Whether or not you have received your National Insurance number is nothing to do with your tax, and will not affect your tax refund. The tax office merely uses it as a reference number.
When you started your job, did you sign form P46 to say it was your only/main and first job? If you did, your employer should be operating your code number (probably 522L) on a cumulative basis, and you would be getting the benefit of the unused backlog of your tax allowance that was due from 6th April last.
If your employer isn't doing what he should, contact the tax office, asking for a cumulative code number be sent to him, showing previous pay nil, previous tax nil. You will then receive your refund with your wages.
I would take the initiative and try sorting it yourself. It may well get done eventually, but could take months if you leave it. If you do nothing, the emergency code number would stop at the cut-off date next 5th April anyway, but you would still have to wait for your refund from this year.

You need to ask your employee for a P46 and sign it to say its your 1st job. Inland revenue will then, issue you with a tax code and also they will rebate you the tax you have paid. Probably in your wages in a few months time.

You can download a P46 off the internet.

you've should of have recived your ( NI), number from the tax office if you haven't than find the nearest one and you should get one , but before you go there take necassary paper work with you so that you don't need to go uo and ddown,
You will probably need ( Passport , birthcertificate, school letter or something saying you have left school),
I think that is what you need ,
good luck , or there is more once you get your proper ( NI) , number you will get the tax you over paid,
P. S. i hope you are not working in a lousy supermarkets they will make you work like a dog and slave.
