Benefit Cheat or a Tax Cheat... Who is worse?
Please don't answer saying they are the same as they are not..

As you can see if you read the question fully...

Thank you for your input in advance.

But you can not make a comarison between a Benefit cheat and a Tax cheat as they are so far apart I don't think that the comparison adds up.... By definition a Tax cheat has got off his butt and WORKED, a Benefit cheat HAS NOT.

Income Tax was only introduced after the second world war to pay for bomb damage, and was suposed to be abollished in 1956, but it never was. Makes you think who realy is being cheated !!!

The question is "Benefit Cheat or a Tax Cheat... Who is worse? " NOT a story about your "daughter in law" anyway why is your son not paying for her ? they must be married if she is YOUR daughter in law...... Or is your son shirking his duty ???

I see your point...the real cheater according to you is the gov't by continuing a tax that was supposed to end in 1956.

Obviously a benefit cheat is the worst kind because he/she/it is simply too lazy to actually work for a living and is a TAKER. The tax cheat worked hard for his/her/its money and has a right to keep as much as possible...I'd have to ask if that's truly cheating...PEACE!

benefit as it destroys infrastructure as well as wasting government money

well what pays for the NHS etc..

benefits cheats out of them 2.... but tax ones are as bad, including them fat cats who earn LOADS of money and thru loop holes pay less tax than their cleaners who are on the minimum wage..

I believe that if the benefit system were fairer we would have less cheats, my daughter in law is currently trying to live on £60 per week for her and her daughter, out of that she has to pay rent, heat her home, feed and clothe herself and her baby, not easy to do on that income

Cherrypicker
I have worked all my life and currently pay around £414 per month in Income Tax and £218 in National Insurance. I think it is appalling to assume that most people claiming benefits are cheats. I simply don't believe it. I think the tax evading hoi polloi are the real villains in the UK. I work in one of the most disadvantaged communities in the UK, with vulnerable people and I have yet to meet a benefit cheat. I have also yet to meet a person on benefits, who isn't living on the breadline. Put the blame where it really lies and don't use Tory rhetoric to beat up working class people who are out of work or living on disability benefits. I'll thank you for your thumbs down in advance.

I would say a benefit cheat is worse. I mean they're taking advantage of a position they aren't really in. So benefit money is like to help out people who aren't as fortunate as those who get benefits.
Plus, they haven't done as much to earn their money...
A tax cheat is just as bad in some ways though because...well tax...you gotta do it haven't you. No one should try to dodge it! It's just one of those things!

Hya all

Well i think a tax cheat is worse!

ln my lifetime l have met benefit cheats and tax cheats!

From what l have seen the benefit cheat does it out of necessity as the benefit money is a pittance, at the moment it is around £55 a week for a single person, how the hell are you supposed to live off that?

A tax cheat is someone who is too tight and greedy with money to pay there taxes!

l am on the paye system so l cant cheat the tax!

there are 2 types of tax cheats though, the ones that l know that just cant understand the self assessment thing, l have had to fill forms in for a certain someone and that advert makes me laugh in an ironic way

tax doesnt have to be taxing!

you try filling one of those out and it doesnt have the crystal clear mark either!

yeah you do get the odd benefit fraudster who does it out of greed but on the whole most do it out of necessity otherwise they just couldnt survive!

the cost of living is so high nowadays, even working makes you pushed for cash

the uk must be one of the worst for taxes, we are just taxed on everything and even when you die you arent free from the taxman, he takes inheritance tax

i might actually count all the different taxes

l often think if you took a tiny hole out of a tenner each time it got taxed by the end of a fortnight there would be nothing left of that tenner!

i know of benefit cheats and i am not gonna snitch on them cos i know they are just getting by!

I'd say tax cheats, the average "benefit cheat" as you put it only does it to get by in life im not saying it's right but this is fact. Tax cheats do it for greed there is a massive difference !! :)

They are both stealing money from HMG. If you think it's your money, have a look at whose picture is on it. Tax cheats only get a better press than benefits cheats because there are more of them.

I don't know where you've got your ideas about income tax. It's been around since 1799. Take a look at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/history/

A benefit cheat is taking money out of our pockets whereas a tax cheat is denying us the cash in the first place.

Widdecombe and Pump
the tax system is cheating everyone.

tax should be paid by what you earn, a sliding scale tax which taxes the richer more and the poorer less.

a person on £5.70 an hour shouldnt be on the same rate as someone on £10 an hour.

Well they are both pretty bad but I think benefit cheats are worse as they are not contributing anything to society and are laughing at the rest of us who fund their lifestyles with our taxes.

A benefit cheat is worst, but remember someone who works and is not paying tax is probaly claiming benefit too so.

benifit cheat i dont want my taxes to go to a lazy bum i would rather all welfare money go to nasa and all foriegn aid money to go to nasa then we americans could leave this pathetic world behind

How can you not say they are not as bad.

Dont get me wrong I hate paying tax for everything I use and buy. But fraud is still fraud. And it means the rest of us pay more to make up for it.

kjk
i want to say a tax cheat is worse simply because they have to cover their tracks up, least the benefits people actually help the economy in a way by working and paying tax
