At 16 in the UK you are only entitled to benefits if you dont live with your parents and are not recieving financial support from them. If this is the case you are entitled to 44.50 a week.
If you are in post 16 education you are entitled upto £30 per week depending on your parents income.
At 17 you can recieve a jobseekers allowance of £34.50 a week regardless of weather you live at home, when you turn 18 you will be entitled to the full amount of £44.50 per week. |

you are allowed to go to work-then some of the money you earn will be put into the big money box of the gogerment-then when you lose your job you might get some social benefits-but beware all of my life i deprived my self and blair said save-so i did-when i had to give up work to look after my wife-and i had no choice cos she had a accident-i told the social i had savings so i lost any benefits,i had to live of my own already taxed money-and when you spend it it is taxed again.moral of story/if you want benefits own nothing and spend your money.and get a council flat-nobody helps the hard working-saving-house owner. |

If you stop in full time education you might qualify for ema up to 18yrs or jobseekers allowance neither are very good but give you a chance to feed your self. better to get a joband earn some money. |

I have 2 teenage daughters both 18 and 17 years of age and they were told by the job center plus that they are not entitled to any benefits what so ever until they reach the age of 18. Both of them are working part time and are in full time education. The only way you would get benefits is if you fell pregnant which I would not recommend!!!!! |

Is Jobseekers Allowance of around £36 pound each week.
Thank you :) |

I hope none. When I was your age I was studying hard, and for the next 6 years there after.
Why don't you do the same and then you can earn some nice money. Right now I'm raking it in, you're never going to get what I make if you're jobless. My advice, study hard as it DOES pay off :-) |

You have the right to uphold your self respect and go out and earn a living to keep yourself. That way you'll hold your head high right through your life. |

Try getting a job instead of leaching off those who work. |
