Bush Rebate Check?
I'm 18 years old and still a full-time student (I'm a senior); my mom claimed me on her taxes since this is the last year she would be able to. There was an issue on wether she was able to claim me b/c of the amount of money I had made last year, but she was able to in the end. She checked w/her local bank to see when her rebate check from Bush would be in, they told her that her $600.00 deposit would be in tomorrow ...but shouldn't she be recieving $900.00 instead of $600.00 since she claimed me? Because I won't be recieving a check since I was claimed as another's dependant, correct? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Additional Details
Yeah, I made a good bit of money last year and got a good bit back on my taxes, but since I was claimed as another's dependant I didn't think I was eligable to recieve the check?!

Qualifying children must not be over 17 for their parents to be eligible to receive the $300 rebate for them. You're 18, so your mom won't get it for you, sorry.

And no, you won't receive it because she claimed you as a dependant.

No, a parent only gets the $300 extra for a child under age 17. And correct, you won't receive a check since you are a dependent.

babsy0123
nope NO check for you....

your mother claimed you. although she should have $900 you are right there....

ahhh the IRS at work....still taking when they should be giving...

No, she could have received anywhere from 300-600 for herself..the MAXIMUM was 600.00 , then 300.00 per child.

seashell
I believe you'd have to be 17 or under for your mom to receive the extra $300.

Dependents will not get the rebate.
Your mom will not get rebate for claiming you as you are not under 17 in 2007.

For information on stimulus tax rebate schedule, the eligibility and how much rebate you will get read: http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/are-you-eligible.html

go to

irs website

they have a rebate calculator, all you have to do is answer a few questions (no personal info) and they will give you an accurate estimate. They also have a list of the exact dates that the rebate checks, or deposits will be done.
